Bill Scott obituary

William (Bill) Patrick Scott was born January 10th, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho and passed away June 26th, 2020 in Austin, Texas following complications from a stroke he had in December 2019.

Growing up, he practiced farming and raised and trained quarter horses with his parents, Paul and Freda Scott for the Flying U Rodeo.  After high school, he was a U.S. Senate page for a summer before attending Carleton College in Minnesota, where he was Student Body President both his Junior and Senior years.  Bill moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where he both taught and earned his Masters degree in Radio/Television/Film.  He then moved to Los Angeles and was accepted into the Director's Training Program, and worked with the American Film Intitute.  Bill worked for several decades in film and television as an Assistant Director, Production Manager, Associate Ptoducer, and Line Producer on many projects including:  Carrie, Hooper, Ned Blessing, Badlands, The Postman Always Rings Twice, Phantom of the Paradise, Carny, The Faculty, Spy Kids 1, 2, 3, and 4, Sin City, Grindhouse, Predator, Machete Kills, The Buddy Holly Story, Big Wednesday, The Toy, Windy City, Just One of the Guys, The Last of the Finest, The Good Old Boy, Final Justice, and so many more.

After dating on and off for 13 years, Bill and Barbara Lambertson Scott finally married on a beautiful yacht in Marina Del Ray, CA. and welcomed their only child, Molly in 1987.  She was the apple of his eye and he loved her dearly.  In the early 90's they returned to Austin and Molly eventually followed him into the film industry, where they worked on several movies together.

Bill was an avid fly fisherman, passionate reader and historian, and loving husband and father.  He was known for his fair and pragmatic nature, steadfast kindness, dry humor, and sharp wit, and will always be remembered for the love he had for his office staff, crew and his teamsters and, of course, for the poster that quickly became his catch phrase - " I AM smiling"

A good picture of Bill is on the funeral home website.

Charles "Chet" Arthur Sward Jr. 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022, at his home from COPD.  He was surrounded by love and a famiy that selflessly gave to him all they could.  He was under the compassionate care of his family of people who left an indelible mark on his heart from One Source Hospice, as well as his aide and friend from 24/7 Idaho Home Care.  Chet was born November 10, 1943 in Pocatello, Idaho to Charles Arthur Sward Sr. and LaRae Herend Sward.  Chet was preceded in death by his parents.  Chet grew up living on Mink Creek.  He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1961 and attended Idaho State University.  On June 8, 1962 he married Mary Ann Wise.  Chet worked for the Pocatello Fire Department and retired as Captain after 25 years of service.  Chet also worked as a State Building Inspecdtor and owned his own Home Inspection business.  Chet and Ann moved to Rockford Idaho, and then eventualy settled in Idaho Falls.

Chet was one of a kind.  He was knowledgeable on most every subject, and it was rare when he did not have advice on how to fix something.  He often joked that he was a "vast cesspool of useless information".  He was funny and loved to share his quick wit and a laugh with people.  People who knew Chet became fast friends.  When his friend became ill with Muscular Dystrophy, Chet  became the regional coordinator and fund raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and organized many telethons in assistance to help with research.  He was always open to learning, changing and improving.  He loved his brother and their relationship was a witness on how to do things right.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and time spent on the beach in Maui.  Chet is survived by his loving wife Ann Sward of Idaho Falls; daughter Cherie Sward (formerly of Boise) who moved in with Chet and Ann to provide care, love and hope; son, Charles Brian Sward of Kennewick, WA; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" (Chris) Lemon of Idaho Falls; brother, Norman (Sunny) Sward of Pocatello; 9 grandchilddren and 4 great grandchildren.

RIP Chet

(A couple of corrections, Lee's obituary states that he graduated in 1960 and should be 1961 and he was already on the Memorial Page with year of death as unknown, so I updated that)

Obituary for Lee Lloyd Lake

Lee Lloyd Lake, 80, passed away early Thursday morning at Community Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, surrounded by his children.  He had struggled with chronic kidney disease for over 7 years.  He was born on March 1, 1942 in Gooding, Idaho to Jim Hix and Helen Beryle O'Neil.  His parents divorced when Lee was 3 years old and Helen later married Mervin Andrew Lake, who adopted him.

Lee grew up in Pocatello, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1961.  Not long after graduating, Lee was drafted into the Army and was honorably discharged after serving for two years.

Lee established himself early on as a hard worker, starting his very first job at the age of 11 setting up bowling pins at the King Pin Bowling Alley in Pocatello, where he worked off and on until age 14.  He was paid a nickel a set and often worked until as late as four in the morning, after which he walked the two-and-a-half miles home if he couldn't get a ride.  As an adult, Lee worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, first on the signal gang and later as a signal maintainer.  He retired from UPRR in 2002 after 37 years.

Lee loved photography, receiving his first 35 mm camera at the age of 12, a gift from his dad.  He saved his hard-earned money to buy flashes and other equipment even turning his childhood bedroom into a darkroom so he could develop and print his own pictures.  He often took pictures of his family and loved documenting important events on film.

Lee met the love of his life, Bonnie Colleen Hill, on a blind date in 1965.  They married on May 31, 1968 in the Idaho Falls temple and held a wedding reception in the Archer-Sunnydell chapel.  They started their married life in Pocatello and briefly lived in Clearfield, UT, then Boise, ID.  They raised their children in Caldwell and King Hill, ID before building a home in Sunnydell after Lee's retirement.

Lee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and spent a lot of time compiling family histories for his family members.  He loved camping in the mountains with his family and helping friends and neighbors as often as he could.  He cared with loving devotion for his wife for the last eight years of her life while she was on Hospice and his own health suffered as a result.  He took ill himself not too long afterwards.

Lee is survived by his children:  Echo (Michael) Fredley, Perry (Vida) Lake, and Troy Lake; his grandchildren: Jared, Bonnie, and Peter Fredley; his siblings: Peggy (Merlin) Larden, Joanne (Wally) Hancock, John Lake and Leslie Daniels.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie, as well as his parents, grandparents, and his sister Katherine Olga Lake Clark.

Funeral services will be held a 11:00 am on Thursday, March 31st at the Archer-Sunnydell LDS chapel.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service.  Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.

RIP Lee

Jody Allred obituary is also in the Coeur d' Alene Press (www.cdapress.com).  She listed there a Jody (DeLuca) Hissong.  It is on page A8 of the Sunday April 17, 2022 edition.  She is listed in the class profile as missing.  So if some would like to change that, she is no longer missing.  Cleve Chatterton

Thank you Cleve Chatterton for information on Jody Allred's obituary.

Thanks to Walt Gaved for the recent tip on Roger Wolfey's passing.

I should have acknowledged all tips in the past, but will remember to do so going forward.  I appreciate the help, especially on the classmates who have moved away.

JODY ALLRED DELUCA HISSONG OBITUARY

Jody was born on February 11, 1943 in Hailey, Idaho to Doug and Mary Allred.  Jody passed away at age 79 on April 6, 2022 at her home in Lake Havasu, AZ, with her husband Skip and three of her children by her side.

She attended Hailey schools and moved to Pocatello, Idaho when she was 14.  She completed high shool in Pocatello and then went on to nursisng school.  The nuns at Saint Anthony Catholic Hospital saw great potential in her as she was working in the hospital and they pooled their money and sent her to nursing school.  Jody lived in Pocatello until 1968 and then moved to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, to raise her four children while continuing her work as a nurse.

Jody worked as a nurse for Dr. William T. Wood from 1972 until 1987 when Dr. Wood retired.  She then worked for Dr. William Tarnasky until 1989.  The job she took the most pride in was being the chief deputy coroner from 1984 to 2010.  She also enjoyed the years she gave pilots their flight physicals.

A born Democrat, Jody worked on many political campaigns through the years.  Jody was on the sign board of appeals and also worked on the Wine Stein and Dine Fundraiser event which benefits the Post Falls Education Foundation.  No one could put together a silent auction better than Jody.

She married Skip Hissong in 1992 and was blessed with two more sons,  Bert and Josh.  Jody and Skip resided in Post Falls and were very active in the community.  They had many adventures and travels and so much fun together through all their years of marriage.

Startingl in 1999 they would vacation in Virginia City, Montana and after many Fourth of July visits decided they would like to live there.  In fact, in 2008 Jody sold her dream car and purchased a lot in Virginia City and told Skip "build me a house".

For the next 23 years they spend as much time as possible in Madison County, where Mom was involved with the art shows, chamber banquet, car shows and anything else the town needed her for.  Jody was "everyone's Mom" in Virginia City.  The Hissong house was well known for "ringing the bell" at 5 pm letting everyone know it was "martini time".

In 2018 after wintering in their RV for a couple of years Jody and Skip settled in and bought a house in Lake Havasu, Arizona for the winter months, and they enjoyed boating the channel in their pontoon boat and being members of the Elks and the Eagles.  Of course they quickly made lifelong friends there as well.

Jody was a giver, not a taker.  Her desire to help others extended beyond her family and her absence will be felt for many years to come.  She was well known for her greeting cards; she sent out over 300 cards each year! (And on her 79th birthday we made sure she got over 300 birthday cards -- you should have seen her face).

She and Skip also helped raise a few grandkids through the years.  When somethng needed to be done, Jody always stepped up.  Mama Jody was well known for her cooking.  Her cookies, potato salad, meatloaf, and her famous pretzels were known far and wide.

Jody leaves behind her loving husband, Skip Hissong.  She is also survived by her children Jan (Ray) Martin, Tony Deluca, John (Tobi) Deluca, Wendy Deluca (Tim), Bert (Kendra) Hissong and Josh (Shiva) Hissong.  She is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Jody was predeceased by her parents, grandsons Brandon Deluca and Ray Martin, and a brother, Scott Allred.

Mom always boasted that she had 26 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren because "you can never have too many children" she would like to say, and she filed those shoes perfectly.  Too many to list, but you all live in her heart.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, April 21 at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls.

RIP JODY

Nancy is survived by her six children: Shelley Thomas (Shannon) of Nampa, Stacy Hamilton (Troy) of Boise; Dylan McDonald (Nora Brown) of Las Cruces, NM; Cade McDonald of Koosharem, Ut; Brady McDonad (Mindy) of Koosharem, UT; and Maren Luekenga (T.J.) of Hurricane, Ut; 16 grandchildren; her siblings Robert, Judy, and Dale and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Brent McDonald and her parents Melvin and Margary Clark.

Thanks to Trudy Porter Duncan for letting me know that Tom Dibble had passed away.

OBITUARY FOR THOMAS (TOM) EARL DIBBLE

Thomas (Tom) Earl Dibble 78, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, Rosemary, in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wed., April 13, 2022.  Tom had bravely battled psoriatic arthritis for many years and cancer recently.

Tom's mother Wanda June Dibble gave birth to him three weeks early in Pocatello Idaho.  Baby Tom's dad, Tom Sr., was deployed overseas during World War II, and scooped baby Tommy up into his arms six months later.

As the oldest of five brothers, and the 2nd oldest of his four female cousins in Pocatello, Tom good-heartedly struggled to herd the pack of kids out of trouble (mostly).  Tom was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at age eight and he earned the highet scouting award of Eagle Scout (having survived 6 days in the wilderness without adults) and graduated from Pocatello High in 1961.

Tom moved to Salt Lake City to attend electronics school, and while helping a friend move, he met the love of his life, Rosemary Dibble.  The two married on New Year's Eve at the famous A Little White Chapel, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and remained married for 55 happy years.

The new couple welcomed their first daughter Kendeyl to their family and a year later they celebrated their son, Thayne's arrival.  Two years flew by and then their daughter, JaNae completed the Dibble family.  Tom loved to take his kids dune-buggying through the fields behind their house, camping, or cooking up "Farm Food" aka homemade chicken noodle soup served over mashed potatoes and road-tripping to Las Vegas, Pocatello and California.

After graduating from electronics school, Tom accepted an Electronics Installer job at Western Electric.  The interviewer told him he was happy to hire a farm boy from Idaho, "as those boys are hard workers".  Tom used his "hard work" ethic to rise through the corporate ranks and he soon managed the Utah, Wyoming and Montana territories.  He eventually retired from the company (now AT&T) at the tender age of 52  (to everyone's envy).

After retirement Tom pursued his lifelong loves - gardening, building custom homes, building a cabin with his son Thayne, making pickles with his daughter, JaNae traveling to Europe, Costa Rica, Mexico and Hawaii with family, where he could always find ways to crack coconuts.  He also proudly attended every sporting event, program and celebration featuring his grandkids.

For the last ten years he attended services at the Good Shepherd Luthern Church with Rosemary.  The two loved to help struggling families get back on their feet through the church's Family Promise group, which provides free housing and meals to needy families.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Dibble, his father, Tom Dibble, and his brother, Pat Dibble.  Tom is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rosemary Dibble.  The two loved raising their kids, taking family trips, and discovering new plants for their collection especially cacti.

Tom's other survivors include Tom's brothers, Edward Dibble, Terry (Betty) Dibble, and Bob (Helen) Dibble and Tom's children, Kendeyl Johansen, Thayne Dibble, and JaNae (Sean) Smith.

More survivors include Tom's grandkids and great-grandkids Brayden Smith, Madison (Royce) Plowman and their daughter, Sophie Plowman and their new baby Wesley Plowman, Makenna (Matt) Orlandi and their in-utero son and also his grandson, Mitchell Smith.  His other grandchildren are Max, Jake, Tom and Kira Johansen, and Berlyn Dibble.

Many lifelong friends will miss Tom's laughter, twinkly-eyed smiles, gardening advice, handyman tips (Tom could always fix anything), and custom-made omelets.

On Saturday, April 16, a vewing (10:00 - 10:45) and funeral (11:00 am to 12:00 pm) celebrating Tom's life will take place at the Good Shepherd Luthern Church at 8575 S 700 E, Sandy.  Pallbearers include Ed Dibble, Terry Dibble, Bob Dibble, Pat Dibble Jr., Brayden Smith, Max Johansen, Jake Johansen, and Tom Johansen, and honorary pallbearers include Tom Dibble Jr. and Josh Dibble.

Please leave online messages and tributes to the family by visiting our website: Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary.

RIP Tom

;The following is posted on Facebook:

As a family we have decided to give some time to our collective grieving and come together next year on Fathers Day in Stanley, Idaho where Dad requested that everyone gather in his honor.  Lets take the time to grieve, to heal and to remember so that we can come together with lighter hearts and have a damn good party, exactly as he would like it.  Maybe we even do it every year.

In the meantime, folks should gather, celebrate and mourn as they see fit.  But as for the family we will see you in Stanley next June 18th 2023.

Thank you to everyone, friend and family, for your profound love and support during these times.  We love you all.

OBITUARY FOR NASH LOGAN CARR

Nash Logan Carr, 79, of Pocatello passed away on July 10, 2022.

There are no services planned at this time.  Condolences can be

left at Wilksfuneralhome.com.

COMPLETE OBITUARY:

Nash L. Carr age 79 passed away at home in Pocatello, ID on Sunday, July 10, 2022.  He was born March 4, 1943 in Rock Springs, WY to Imogeane Jeanette Sluder Carr and Nash Henry Carr.

Nash's early life was spent in WY and he spent a lot of time with his beloved "Nana" Pearl Theason Sluder and his "Aunt Jo", who was a great support over the years with "Uncle Bob", as they all moved to different mining towns in WY.  During Nash's elementary school years, he lived in many places from Indiana to California.  He finally ended up living in Pocatello ID by his junior high years.  He went to Irving Jr. High School and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1961.  There he met some of his lifelong friends.  After high school he joined the National Guard.

In Pocatello he met and married the love of his life, Kristine Ailshie, and they were married July 9, 1963.  They enjoyed 59 amazing years together.  During those years, they welcomed 4 wonderful children into their lives.  Alicia, Anita, Matthew, and Zachary.

Nash was very proud of his family, and said that he would never move them around.  They would go to the same schools in one place.

He worked in auto parts until he went to work at FMC.  He retired from there after 37 years.  His desire for accomplishment was shown in all his projects from lifelong affection for everything to do with classic cars, to gardening (mainly tomatoes) and home improvement.  He was never satisfied until the job was done to his satisfaction.

He taught his children what he had learned, and they worked on his car restorations with him, and listened to Hank Williams and Elvis.

Nash became a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed talking to people about the Bible and his hope for the future.

He had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all.  He treasured his famly and friends.  He especially appreciated his "Aunt Jo" and "Uncle Bob" Bollinger.and his sister-in-law Mary Lee Weimer, and his father-in-law Horace Ailshie for extra attention.

He is survived by his wife Kristine Ailshie Carr, daughter Alicia Jo Reese (Wyatt), son Matthew Logan Carr (Shannon), 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Sister Patricia Gowan, Brother John Carr, Jim Bollinger (Alice), and Jerry Bollinger, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents daughter Anita Kristine, and son Zachary Ailshie Carr.  As well as Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that played a large part in Nash's life.

                                           CLASS REUNION

Every five years, as summertime nears,

A Class Reunion announcement arrives in the mail,

A reunion is planned, it'll be really grand,

Make plans to attend without fail

I'll never forget the first time we met;

We tried so hard to impress.

We drove fancy cars, smoked big cigars

And wore our most elegant dress.

It was quite an affair, the whole class was there.

It was held at The Bannock Hotel.

We wined, and we dined, and we acted refined,

And everyone thought it was swell.

The men all conversed about who had been first

To achieve great fortune and fame.

Meanwhile, spouses described their fine houses

And how beautiful their children became.

The homecoming queen, who once had been lean,

Now weighed in at one-ninety-six.

The jocks who were there had all lost their hair,

And the cheerleaders could no longer do kicks.

No one had heard about the class nerd

Who'd guided a spacecraft to the moon,

Or poor little Jane, who's always been plain,

She married a shipping tycoon.

The boy we'd decreed "most apt to succeed"

Was serving ten years in the pen.

While the one voted "least" now was a priest,

Just shows you can be wrong now and then.

They awarded a prize to one of the guys

Who seemed to have aged the least.

Another was given to the Grad who had driven

The farthest to attend the feast.

They took a class picture, a curious mixture

Of beehives, crew cuts and wide ties.

Tall, short, or skinny, the style was the mini;

You never saw so many thighs

At our next get-together, no one cared whether,

They impressed their classmates or not.

The mood was informal, a whole lot more normal,

By this time we'd all gone to pot.

It was held out-of-doors, at the Ross Park Shores,

We ate hamburger, coleslaw and beans.

Then most of us lay around in the shade,

In our comfortable T-shirts and jeans.

By the fortieth year, it was abundently clear,

We were definitely over the hill.

Those who weren't dead had to crawl out of bed,

And be home in time for their pill.

And now I can't wait as they've set the date,

Our sixtieth is coming, I'm told.

It shoud be a ball, they've rented a hall

At the Shady Rest Home for the old.

Repairs have been made on my old hearing aid,

My pacemaker's been turned up on high.

My wheelchair is oiled, and my teeth have been boiled,

And I've bought a new wig and glass eye.

I'm feeling quite hearty, I'm ready to party,

I'll dance until dawn's early light.

It'll be lot of fun; and I hope at least one

Other person can make it that night.
