Kevin had a great ability to connect and be a friend to everyone he met. His sense of humor was contagious to those around him. He always made me feel good and brightened my day.
Kevin loved his family and would do anything for his daughters. He found time to attend Jazz games with me, even while he was busy serving as a Bishop of a Singles ward, running his mortgage business, and being a father. He was also very involved with those in the Singles ward and had a genuine love and concern for their well-being.
I met Kevin during our Sophomore year at Provo High. We both had a love for basketball. We came up with ways to get BYU parking passes and BYU issued gym clothes and spent many afternoons at the BYU fieldhouse and Richard’s building playing basketball during our Sophomore and Junior years. We were locker buddies/companions for our Junior year. We were separated our senor years as Kevin stayed at Provo High and I attended Timpview.
Kevin was a wonderful friend to me during our high school years. His parents and 3 brothers also welcomed me at their home.
As I pass the Provo East Bay golf course, I often think of the great times we had playing golf there. I also remember the times we snuck into that golf course in the middle of the night to get golf balls out of the ponds. We swam in the warm water that was likely infested with the same algae that plagues Utah Lake. As in all things, Kevin made this a fun and memorable event.
