Class of '67 Quick Notes

Stanley Leon Caton, Jr., 72, of Asheville, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in High Point, NC to the Late Stanley Leon Caton, Sr. and Jean Ruth Caton. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Caton; two daughters; Caroline Dillon (Mark) of Fletcher and Lara Caton (Jamil) of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; Ashton Dillon, Elaina Dillon, Mark Dillon, Mary-Elizabeth Dillon, James Dillon, Annaleah Dillon, and Naomi Whitlow. Stan worked as a Contractor building over 80 homes in the Asheville area and served as the President of the Asheville Homebuilders Association. He won Builder of the Year in 2000 and won 14 Parade of Homes Awards for craftmanship and design throughout his career. Stan was an adventurous and courageous young man that accomplished becoming an Eagle Scout. He was very artistic and talented and enjoyed painting and photography. He was an animal lover who served on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Animals, and he was known for having his Labradors ride around with him to jobsites. Stan loved fishing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. Whenever he could, he would travel to the Gulf Stream with his buddies to fish for tuna.

Stan cherished family above all. He was passionately in love with his wife of 36 years and faithfully loved and stood by his daughters through thick and thin. He was loved by everyone he met and had the unique ability to connect with anyone. A Memorial Service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Trinity of Fairview, with Rev.
