Ernie died on Jan. 23, 2021 in Tucson of complications of COVID 19. He was 73.
He served in Vietnam with the 5th Cavalry, 1st Air Cavalry. He was awarded the U.S. Army Commendation Medal and U.S. Army Air Medal for Heroism and Meritorious Service.
I remember Ernie. We were in school together, if memory serves, all the way back to Lugonia Elementary. Always a good guy and always helping out. I believe he served as team manager for sports teams in high school.
