Richard Elliott was kind enough to send this information on Frank. He was such a kind soul:

I thought some would like to know that classmate Frank Washigton passed away Sept. 10, 2014. I received the info from his sister. He was living in Nevada at the time of  his death. Frank was soft-spoken, quiet, and a very nice guy. I always enjoyed talking with him.

Like some of our other classmates who did not graduate with the class, Frank chose to serve in the military in our Junior year. I am sure some classmates had been wondering what became of Frank. He is buried at the San Joaquin National Cemetery in Gustine. The cemetery is (209) 854-1040, 32053 West McCabe Rd., Santa Nella, CA should anyone want to see about visiting Frank's final resting place.

Frank served in the Army and in Viet Nam, where he suffered hearing loss from a land mine explosion. His passing was from a heart attack. Frank lived on 40 acres of land in Nevada. His sister, Temi, said of Frank, "He liked it there. The snow, all the cottontail rabbits and deer. It was peaceful and quite beautiful."

Thanks, Richard for this. Bless his heart. Rest in peace, Frank.

I remember Frank starting way back at Washington Elementary School and going all the way through Sequoia. I always liked him a lot. He was a thoughtful, serious and considerate person who was well-regarded by both teachers and classmates. I’ll have to check with fellow Cub Scout Ron Barbieri (67), but I seem to recall that Frank was in our Cub Scout Pack 10 that met at Washington School. I am truly sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. From what his sister Temi wrote, it sounds like Frank enjoyed a good life on 40 rural acres in Nevada. He served his country, was injured in combat and deserves our thanks and respect. Rest in peace, Frank.
