Ralph and I did not really know each other, just a "Hi" here and there. I admired him from a distance. Fridays always held a level of excitement throughout the school, with the football team all wearing suits and ties. I went to the games to cheer the team on, sometimes until my voice was quite hoarse. I always looked for Ralph's jersey number.
I am very sorry to hear that after four years of fighting cancer, that he succumbed in the end. Cancer is not easy, I know this.
In due time, my wish is that those who loved Ralph, will find some level of peace and strength.
I am praying for Ralph's family, loved ones, and friends. May the Lord bless you all.
I will never forget Ralph and his " Afro" hairstyle while we were in HS. The Mortar Boad hat perched so precariously on his head during graduation that I thought it would fall off ! He was always smiling . I remember a gentle soul .
