I saw a bumper sticker yesterday and thought of all the duffers out there. also thought all of you might enjoy it.

It read, You need a Lot of Balls to play golf like I do.

Fred, sorry to be late but my computer was under attack and my defensive team was handling it.  Regardless, I hope your birthday was better than the Spartans, day.   Their season isn't a disaster yet but I think they'll have to beat the Buckeyes or that "other" Michigan school to salvage the season and that doesn't appear too likely.  I am a huge Tom Izzo fan, with good reason, though and it looks like they'll be another first echelon squad again.

OB, "I'd rather be driving a Titleist" is one of my favorite bumper stickers.

Doctor Randy, here's hoping this birthday finds you smiling.  I have always admired those who have chosen your profession because, while it can be immensely rewarding, it can also be depressing when all you can do is ineffective against Mother Nature, not to mention when your patients don't bother to do what's best for themselves.

Happy Birthday, Randy and upcoming to Phil Roy.   Best wishes to those who have/had birthdays in October and November.

Must have been a cold winter in February and March. Happy birthday guys

Happy Birthday, Phil Roy.  I still remember you with your back to the basket flipping the ball straight over your head without turning around nor looking at the basket.  The guy guarding you didn't even know you had taken a shot let alone that you had scored.  I hope that your life has gone that well.

Gosh -  I think I'm behind in birthday wishes.  Happy Birthday to Pete Pappas and Phil Roy and all November classmates.

I also want to send my condolences to Kathy Glynn Seymour and her husband, Rick, on the recent death of Rick's brother John (class of '61).  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I add my condolences to Rick and Kathy Seymour upon John's death.

Phil,

Happy birthday!  It was great seeing you two at Chuck's eulogy.  You both look great!  I wished I had more time to visit.  Every time I'm in Royal Oak and drive by Memorial Park I can't help but think about your batting cage business, not to mention what Memorial Park has become (professionally done with great lighting!I)  As I recall, when we played there at night the ball would often go above the lighting and the fielder had to wait for it to re-appear.  But it was still a big deal to play "under the lights"!

Enjoy your day!

A Happy Birthday to Phil. Long time no hear. I heard you were doing some baseball coaching. How was that? Where were you coaching?

I hope all is well with you and keep on plugging, take care or any way you can get it.

How many times have you heard, it's a small world?

A week ago as I was walking the dog in the morning, I saw some people moving in about 7 houses up from us. I saw their license plate and it was Michigan. I introduced myself to the women and asked where in Michigan were they from? She told me Birmingham and I told her I was from Royal Oak. Her son went to Brother Rice and her daughter went to Marion. Talk a bout a small world.

Along the same vein, the pizza place we go to, the owner is from Berkley. you never know.

Happy birthday, Pete Pappas, slick fielder extraordinare.  I hope that all is well with you and those you love.

Condolences to Kathy and Rick, it's always sad to lose a sibling.

My psychic powers tell me that there will be an inordinate number of babies born in Chicago nine months from now.  Great game seven!!

Mike, Arlene, Janet, Pat and OB:

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Mike, great memory about the basketball days, Pat it was great to

see you and everybody else at Chuck's eulogy, OB, I coached Varsity Baseball at Birmingham Groves

High School for 25 years and speaking of old baseball memories, in 1963 our summer team won the

Inter-City Class C Baseball Championship with you and Pete Pappas and myself as team mates and we celebrated

later that night by jumping in Janet Flick's pool.

Phil,

Nice job of coaching. That must have been a ball, (No pun intended). Were you a teacher there or able to coach without teaching?

I remember winning the championship in 63 but if I would have jumped into any pool, I would still be there as an ornament because I couldn't ans still can't.

good to hear from you, hope all is well?

Should read I couldn't swim then and still can't. My typing went faster than my brain

Pete,

A big Happy Birthday on you and remembering the summer of 63 from Roy brings back alot of memories.

Especially after my stupid move of dropping out of school. I  found out after doing that, if I would have finished and graduated I had a full scholarship for baseball to University of Michigan. Live and learn

Janet Flick (Stickel)

Okay, time to clarify.....  Phil Roy shared this "pool" memory with me at Chuck's visitation and I was remiss in not correcting him.... I didn't have a pool.   So you were either at someone else's pool or at my house doing some other mischief.   On the record,  I have no memory of your shenanigans!   But I certainly support your celebrating such a fine championship victory in 1963.

We have two grandsons who play in the Royal Oak sandlot little league so have spent many hours at Memorial field these past years.  Nothing like a game under those lights on a warm summer night.

Janet, thanks for clarifying the pool memories.  I couldn't remember you having a pool and thought I was losing it.  Whew!

Lucia Lenhard (Johnson)

Only Andi had a pool! Had me going for awhile there, Phil.

Janet

We will have to get Pete Pappas to respond to find out whose pool

we jumped in to solve the mystery!  Happy birthday Pete, let us know.

Phil do you think it might have been the Kimball pool. Happy birthday everyone.
