Attended U of U for one year then served an LDS Mission to France-Belgium. Finished at the U, graduating in 1977 with Honors B.A. in English. Law School and Masters of Public Administration at BYU, graduating in 1982. Serve on several community boards. Currently owner of government relations consulting firm, Captus Global. Former EVP / General Counsel of Salt Lake Chamber.
Loved fries, grilled cheese, and Cherry Coke for breakfast at Pete's. Flexible scheduling was fantastic. Favorite faculty = Lefty Bennett, Q Croft, Coach Dick Milne. Debate. Madrigals. Taking state in basketball. Lots of secret and not-so-secret crushes. Mis-read names at graduation. Had I known being a class officer was a life-time commitment I never would have run. :)

First law job was Associate General Counsel to the Utah Legislature. Became General Counsel to Governor Mike Leavitt in 1992. Co-founded RRJ Consulting in 1997. US West/Qwest from 1997 to 2003. Since 2003 have been at Salt Lake Chamber plus Riggs Consulting, Riggs Properties, WebBank, CP Fuels, Point West Ventures.
Write a book and a screenplay.
