After graduating from the University of Utah with an MBA. I worked in investment Real Estate in Palo Alto, California. We remained in California until 2002, at which time I moved back to Utah and have been a dealer in Antique Firearms and Militaria since then until today.
I thought I was going to be able to attend the reunion, but I have a business trip to the East Coast, I cannot change or miss. I wish I could attend.
Tony Sorenson added this story to his profile:
Rob Robles, Espen Holje and I were driving around Skyline High School in Robs dad's (pretty new) car and we had just acquired a couple dozen eggs at the local store. As everyone knows, if you acquire eggs they must be thrown in short order, and so we proceeded to plaster a car with eggs that was just pulling out of the Skyline parking lot. Unfortunately, when we got a better look at the occupants of the car (from the rear view mirror of course), it looked like it was full of Skyline football players, who looked very angry. We tore out of there hoping to lose them, but one of the streets we went down turned out to be a dead end with only a dirt road leading out of it.
Since our alternative was getting the crap kicked out of us, Rob took off on the dirt road at full speed. A little way down the dirt road we realized that it ran into a paved road and we would be saved. What we didn't realize was that there was a big ditch crossing the dirt road that would have to be crossed before getting on to the paved road. We hit that ditch at full speed, and it must have looked like something out of the Dukes of Hazard. We caught a considerable amount of air and torqued the car body enough that it put a crack down the car windshield. Espen and I, being in the back seat, thought this was very funny, especially in light of the fact that we were not going to have to explain things to our parents. Rob was not quite so happy though, and was concerned that rather than escape a beating from the Skyline Football team he would get much the same beating from his dad. We ended up spending the rest of the night thinking of excuses that Rob could tell his dad as to why the windshield was cracked. I must say we came up with a number of excellent reasons. It appeared they worked for the most part because Rob walked with only a slight limp the next day.
I remember this well, I told my dad a passing car kicked up a rock and cracked the wind shield, that's my story, and I'm sticking too it.
The other side of the coin would be dozens of other classmates of ours at Olympus, whose cars we egged. When I say egged, I mean we bought 5 dozen eggs at a time, and pretty well gave their cars a new paint job. From what I know this is the first time any of us has fessed up. Scott Miles was a favorite target, because he loved his car so much.
