I have only fond memories of Laura. I had classes with her way back in grade school and kept up a running conversation with her right on through Canada College days before losing track of her. I am so sorry to hear of her passing.
Laura was such a lovely person and sweet soul. I recall her calling me in Vancouver, WA excited to tell me that she and her family were relocating to Portland, OR. She was happy to know that someone from "home" lived in the area. I looked forward to getting together, but never got a call back. It seemed that she suddenly developed a health issue which took her life. My sympathies to her loved ones.
Laura was so feminine...lovely really, like her mom. I, by contrast, always felt like a bit of a clod. I followed her through the chairs in Job's Daughters and lost track of her after high school. I heard later that she had joined a police force? Perhaps someone can clarify. I'm so sad to learn that we both may have lived for a time in Portland and never connected. What a missed opportunity.
