Alan was a great guy. He knew how to push your buttons for a laugh, he had so much energy, he helped put together a weekly Saturday tackle football game, Redwood City vs San Carlos, and his Redwood City squad always won, and most us limped on Mondays. Rest in peace Alan

It was sad to hear of Alan’s passing. He was a true and loyal friend. He had wanted very much to get back together with his neighborhood friends, but sadly it never happened. Alan and I were neighbors, and he was always organizing us all for some sort of sport, or adventure. In Alan’s case, the Marines did him a lot of good in building up his confidence. Alan always loved playing football, but did not play for San Carlos; however he was ALL CINCPAC defensive end, while in the Marines. In 1973 or 1974 Alan, Paul Haskins and I would meet at Harry’s Hofbrau for dinner and coffee, trading stories, and trying as best we could, to sort out life. I know he moved up North with HP, but over time I lost contact, sometime after the 20th reunion. My best to his wife and daughters, for Alan was one of the finest people I have ever known, as he had a very kind heart towards everyone.
