Renae McEwen (Lowe)

Hey classmates! I was the quiet one in school, so I'm not sure if you'll remember me. I was friends with Miki and still am....as a matter of fact, we spoke this morning. Most of our conversation was about this website and the upcoming reunion. We hope to make it to the main event and see everyone then!

Take care!

1. Favorite Teacher? Mrs. Karen Marshall, Mr. Jack Boylston

2. Least Favorite Teacher? Mr. Sherwood McDonald. That man drove me batty!!!

3. Best Friend(s)? Sabrina McLendon, Susan deRussy, Jennifer Peck, Lissa Jackson, Jim Leesch, Jon Schumacher, and Todd Munson

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor? no BFs--I managed to avoid all relationships beyond "friends"--well, with the exception of a 2-week "dating" experience (if you can call it that) with Steven Satterfield our freshman year...

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor? I plead the 5th.

6. Most embarrising moment? some of those god-awful clothes I wore when I was trying to be "different" or "artsy"--and then there was the short hair cut w/ the "tail"--and, when I was pranked by one of the local radio stations 1st thing in the morning about some flowers I'd received from Jim Rogers; the whole exchange was blasted over the airwaves and then again over the intercom at school--and, I could go on and on...

7. Proudest moment? my roles in several of the smaller productions we did in the drama club

8. One thing you would change if you could? I would "lighten up" and try to enjoy things more

1. Favorite Teacher? Ms. Fox(call me weird-she liked me and I was very good in Eng.)Ms. Greene-I tell the kids that she taught me skills that helped get me where I am today--TYPING!!!
2. Least? Ms. Davis--Sorry, James, not that I didn't like her, it's that I had the hardest time in her class.

3. Best Friend(s)? Karla Rahn--hung out with Erin Fitts, Vicki Farber, Stephanie Kreger and many, many more!!!My best guy friend to this day from school is Jon Hyde, we talk all the time!

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor? Sr yr. -- my boyfriend was Scott Norris, he was a year older. and went off to the Navy after he graduated.

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor? Stephen Colson, but I don't know how secret it was....

6. Most embarrising moment? so embarrasing I've blocked it from my memory :-)

7. Proudest moment? tennis team successes

8. One thing you would change if you could? Taking HS moe seriously -- Some of those embarassing moments -- I strive daily to help my step daughter stay out of situations where she might not have to make decisions that she might not be ready to make! Lord knows kids aren't ready to make some of the decisions that they are faced with today at such a young age.

:-)

Good questions, Ashley! Okay, here goes!

1. Favorite Teacher? Jack Boylston-I hated math, but I loved Geometry! ;) I also liked Ms. Fox since I was good in English.

2. Least Favorite Teacher? I agree with you, Kim: Mrs. Davis. I failed her class freshman year and had to take remedial algebra!

3. Best Friend(s)? It depends on what year it was. Iris Usry freshman year, Michelle Reeder sophomore and junior year and Miki Simpson senior year.

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor? I never dated anyone for any length of time compared to most people, but some of those at Windsor were Bobby Burlock, Stephen Colson, John Berry, Chris Sinclair, one date with Jimmy Bell. There were probably others, but I can't think of anyone at the moment.

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor? Jon Schmidt. I seriously think everyone in the school knew, though!

6. Most embarrising moment? Striking out and losing a softball game in sophomore or junior year. And how could I forget?-upchucking in Joey Garman's uncle's Jaguar on junior prom night because I got sick from the scallops at HPs.

7. Proudest moment? Windy Gap, standing up when they called for people who had accepted Christ as their Savior.

8. One thing you would change if you could? Just one? I would put more effort into friendships and concentrate less on what guy I liked that week.

I think this website and these messages are really great in getting us ready for the reunion! So much time has passed, it's nice to see how many people actually stayed in Savannah and what everyone is up to! I hope there will be awards like at our 10th! Those were fun!

Survey

1. Favorite Teacher? Linda Green, for watching my back when I left school to get lunch (although I had to bring her back something too)

2. Least Favorite Teacher? What was the math teacher's name that was across the hall from Mrs. Davis. Her (she was awful)

3. My best friend? Janet "Renee" Brown

4. Boyfriend? I'll never tell :)

5. Crush? I was pretty outspoken then, if I liked you, you knew it :) "Boy, have I changed"

6. Most embarrassing moment? Falling out of Kerry Holmes' car onto DeRenne Ave. while moving in traffic. It was the funniest and scariest moment of my life.

7. Proudest moment? Graduation, making the Chatelaines

8. What I would change? Maintaining friendships over the years.

Grant Sims

That is a good idea Ashley. Here it goes

1. Favorite teacher - Did we have teachers??

2. Least favorite teacher - Ms. Sanders (math)

3. Best friend(s)- Darby hands down. I am sorry that I lost touch with him. There are many other friends.

4. Girlfriends @ WFHS - Jamie Lee (Freshman year) but the one that I remember the most is Angela Moody

5. crush - Not that I can remember

6. Most embarrising moment - failing

7. Proudest moment - sportsmanship award for baseball

8. I cant pick one thing. There are soo many things I would change. I would be a better person and take school seriously.

Since we are taking the time to look back on our lives at WFHS I want to thank everyone for the friendships that I had. I want to ask for forgiveness for all of those that I may have hurt or treated badly. You have all heard that you dont know what you've got until you dont have it any longer... we I truly feel that way about the friends and school mates that I had at WFHS. I am looking forward to seeing all of you again and catching up on our lives. Looking back in the yearbook I now realize how special all of you are. See you soon.
Grant

Darby Curlee

1. Favorite Teacher? Mr. and Mrs. Gregory.

2. Least Favorite Teacher? Mrs. Davis. Man it was nice having the answers to her tests prior to taking them. Just kidding.

3. Best Friend(s)? Grant was by far my best friend. Ferrell and Ricky Danis also.

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor? No one wanted to date a squishy boy then.

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor? Think I'll keep that one to myself.

6. Most embarrising moment? Not being able to play baseball after Randy gave me my first dip.

7. Proudest moment? Great solo playing trumpet at battle of the bands.

8. One thing you would change if you could? I would have appreciated the talents given to me instead of wanting to be like others so much. It's amazing how things work out for you one way or another as your lives progress. I was very lucky to have the friends and family (Jon Schmidt) during school. It made it quite a bit more fun.

03/30/08 12:07 AM #34

Adam Harbaugh

1. Favorite Teacher? Terry Shaw. We were always looking for the Jesus figure in every book. There was always one, too. Does anyone remember the "write about blue" assignment?

2. Least Favorite Teacher? Ms. Bush. She had some memorable sayings: "if you have a problem, it is your problem" and "moving right along" (that one might be slightly off). Not sure that writing the text verbatim on the board and having us copy it is the best way to teach chemistry. I could be wrong, though.

3. Best Friend(s)? Alan Garren. I had a lot of good friends from pretty different crowds but Alan and I were very close.

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor? Dawn Anderson and Sabrina Feldtman

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor? Definitely. Oh, was the question also asking for a name? I'll follow Heather and also plead the fifth.

6. Most embarrassing moment? Many of the clothes and hairstyles. Not embarrassed then, but I should have been. Also, you might have thought I would have been embarrassed by arriving late and having to walk across a full gym of tables and the entire sophomore class on some standardized testing day while dressed in drag. You'd be mistaken (see next question). I got a lot of whistles and cat calls.

7. Proudest moment? Probably winning the city soccer championship. Although I'm pretty proud of being crowned queen at the powder-puff football game our sophomore year.

8. One thing you would change if you could? So many things. I would be more outgoing. I would take more risks (not the dumb ones...I did that). I would get to know more people based on real and lasting qualities. I would be a better student.

Hey everyone..... we still have 213 people that haven't posted a profile and are listed as "location unknown". I have a feeling this reunion is going to be a special time for all of us. So let's all try to think of friends of friends who may know where our friends are today. Just like the website has shown us, this can be a lot of fun if more and more people are involved.
So far, Heather Raymond gets my vote for the Bloodhound award as her detective skills seem to be unrivaled. Let's get in touch with everyone so that those that have to travel will have enough time to make travel plans.
Go Knights!
(this is a mini pep rally)

Jenifer Johnson (Paul)

Okay everyone, I got inspired by the pictures Valerie Dennison uploaded, so I dug out some of my own from the good old days and scanned them in. Enjoy! I have some more that I'll probably bring to the reunion. If you have any, scan them in or bring them so we can laugh about our clothes/hair!

03/31/08 07:32 PM #37

Angela Moody (McKay)

Okay, Alan. Your pep talk helped!
Angie Barton is working at Memorial Health as a Nurse Practitioner. I left a message with patient relations for her to check out this website. She's now Barton-Mixon.
I emailed my step brother (Warren Brown) this website address for him to update his profile & info.
My mother is working on Billy Christian & Angela Freeman (She knows Billy's mom and Angela's grandmother).
I'm calling Kim May tonight - I have her phone number. Hope this helps!

Wow! I am so excited! What a neat website! Whoever thought this up- GREAT job! I am so looking foward to seeing everyone! Thanks Val D. for looking me up and putting me in contact! I know where George "Frank" Bazemore is and will get him in contact. We moved to Greenville together, he and my husband are business partners. We will probably all come together! Can't wait to see you all and share memories and PROUD parent stories. Man it has be 20 years, we are all gettin old. Where did the time go??????????

04/01/08 07:20 AM #39

Richard Alan Garren

Great work Angela! We now have 206 people left and 73 days to find them. And we have 73 friends profiled on the site. I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, but I am issuing the NO CLASSMATE LEFT BEHIND statute. If each person profiled on the site can track down 2.8219178 people that are listed as location unknown then everyone from our graduating class will have at least been notified and won't feel like they were left behind.
Professor Harbaugh can check my math for me on this one. He and Jon Schumacher provided me with most of my math answers through high school anyway. But now, I'm allowed to use a calculator. We had six people located/informed in less than 48hrs so I believe we can do this. I'm sure everyone can remember a time when we felt left out in high school, so let's try to make sure no one from our class feels that way again about our reunion.

(math disclaimer: Yes, Adam, I do realize that my math does not factor in the inverse coefficient for those that have been notified, but choose not to participate for whatever their reasons are... I need a super equation for that one)
Oh yeah, Happy Tuesday!
Alan

DeeAnn Hopkins (Buck)

Thank you Heather for getting in touch with me. I so enjoyed reading through everyones profiles last night. This site is great. I have enjoyed the emails that I have received from some long lost friends. I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

04/01/08 11:14 AM #41

Heather Raymond (Wainwright)

You're welcome, DeeAnn! I'm glad your son passed on the message.

ATTN EVERYBODY: I've made it my mission to find our classmates who haven't "checked in" yet, but I need some help, w/ the ladies in particular. If you know the married name and/or spouse's name of any of our female classmates, please shoot me an email (2boys4joy@gmail.com) with the info you know and I might be able to find the gals that are still MIA. If you know where any of the men might be living and their spouses' names, that makes it easier to narrow down the searches for them, too.

If you don't want to mess w/ all that, then, like Alan said, see who you can contact yourself, please! You might be surprised who you can still find.

Here's to NO CLASSMATE LEFT BEHIND!! :)

I have a quick couple of questions about the golf outing that Darby and Grant are planning. Is there anyway we can set up an RSVP site on here to show who will be playing? Also, guys, do you have a place in mind to play, or do you need some help with that? Before my grandfather passed away, he was working as a starter/marshall at one of the local courses. I can see if they can get us on one of the local courses whatever day yall want to do it. I would just need to know what day and time, how many people, and where you would prefer to play. He was working out by I-16 close to the sheriff's office. I can't remember the name, but I will find out. They are owned by the company that owns like 8 courses in the area, so if anyone he worked with is still there, I might be able to get us a deal. Thursday would probably be easiest, but I don't know when everyone is planning on showing up!
I plan on playing, but have to warn everyone, I haven't played in 6 years, and wasn't all that great to begin with!
Can't wait to see everyone! It's so cool to see more people showing up on here and to see how they are doing!

04/01/08 04:01 PM #43

Jenifer Johnson (Paul)

I'm up to the challenge, Alan and Heather! I think it's important for us to get as many people together as we can! But even if they can't be there in person, it would be nice for us to reconnect through this website! I'm sure this has been thought of, but someone did try emailing people through Classmates, right? That's how Romona Ellis found me. I just assumed maybe some of those that were contacted haven't responded or maybe they have different emails now.

I'm going to try to get in touch with Dawn Tisdale and Joey Garman. My youngest goes to Bloomingdale Elementary where Dawn's kids go. I saw her recently, but before this started. Joey used to work with me, but left in Feb and was going to move to Atlanta, so I'm not sure if he's still here. I think Stephen Colson is a manager at Applebee's in town, but I'm not sure which one, maybe Garden City. Heather, I think I'll let you try him. I'll see if there's anyone else I can think of!

04/01/08 04:15 PM #44

Richard Alan Garren

That's the spirit Jennifer! See, two more of our friends have been informed just since this morning. I've never been so proud to be a knight! Welcome to the site Wendy and Marnie. No Classmates Left Behind is what it's all about so don't get too caught up in the math, but it works because I just got a confirmation email from Adam.

Valerie Dennison (Strange)

In the last week, I found John Bayides and called him. He lives Savannah and said he was going to get on here and register. I also talked to Stacy Dyches Tabakian and she still lives here and was going to get on here and register. John said Trey Bailey still lives here, but I have not found him yet. I emailed about 15 people on myspace.com and classmates.com, and Stacy got her message (hey Stacy), and Mike McCarthy got his message. I got in touch with Julie Dickerson, but she hasn't registered yet. On Ancestry.com, I found that Creswell Formey lived in New Haven, CT but have not found a contact number for him. John Bayides said Steve Haskins lives in the Detroit, MI area, but so far I've been unsuccessful in contacting him. ANYWAY, I am working on several people at the moment. I'm also running ads in a couple of local publications. Hope we can get everybody together.

Sabrina McLendon (Abare)

1. Favorite Teacher? Ms. Bath

2. Least Favorite Teacher? MacDonald

3. Best Friend(s)? Heather Raymond (Wainwright)

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor?

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor?

6. Most embarrising moment? When my 10th grade boyfriend (who was a senior) cheated on me the night before prom and everyone at the prom knew except me.

7. Proudest moment? That I didn't end up with him. (Just kidding.) Graduation/Getting accepted at UGA

8. One thing you would change if you could? I would have transferred to Windsor Forest sooner. (I actually lived in Richmond Hill and paid out-of-county tuition - now that's loving Windsor!)

04/01/08 05:15 PM #47

Sabrina McLendon (Abare)

For those of us who haven't been in Savannah much in the last 20 years, where is everyone staying? Are we all piling up at somebody's house like an after-prom party?! Just kidding. Does anybody have hotel suggestions within walking distance of the main event?

04/01/08 05:45 PM #48

Susan McTier (Crain)

1. Favorite Teacher? Many (call me a dork), but I had to say that Mr. Shaw stretched me the most...and Mrs. Gossett was a personal fave for all those yearbook treats. ADAM, how in the WORLD did you remember the "write about blue" assignment? I remember that now. Hilarious.

2. Least Favorite Teacher? I think I've blocked them.

3. Best Friend(s)? Many good friends. Especially close with Andrea LaPray, Carlton Ulmer, and Paige West (c/o 1989).

4. Who was your BF or GF at Windsor? Hmmm. Does this mean that there was just one?

5. Did you have a secret crush on anyone at Windsor? I think my crushes were all pretty public.

6. Most embarrising moment? Either there are too many to list or there's not one stellar enough to name as "the most."

7. Proudest moment? Serving as yearbook editor our senior year. Those layout and copywriting skills helped put me on the the path to my career.

8. One thing you would change if you could? I'd focus on things that matter, try new things and not let others' expectations (parents, friends, etc.) shape my decisions.

GOLF GOLF GOLF

I see some interest in a golf outing. If it is ok with everyone I can get things together on this (Darby will help but he doesnt know it yet) If you would like to get involved int he golf outing send me an email (grantsims@geico.com) and let me know when you will be getting in to Savannah. Ashley, if you can work on getting a deal froma course let me know. Darby said something about Southbridge. I havent played in Savannah much over the past few years so I dont know of all of the courses. If we get enough people playing we can get a bestball tourney together. Send me your name, handicap, when you can play and I will work something up.
Grant

PS If you dont have a handicap let me know what your normally shoot on 18 holes. (no sand bagging!!!)
