Memories of School - story, event or thoughts:

When I think about high school I can't help but think about our senior prom out at the Walhalla Country Club. My memory is probably not like anyone else's in our class. If you remember we had a live band The Bobby Ivanello band. They were great but that's not the point. I took DawnTreviliger, lovely, sweet girl who is sadly no longer with us. We had gone out to the parking lot to talk while I had a cigarette and sit in my dad's sky blue 1964 Mustang. Dawn was seated in the passenger seat and I was seated in the open door next to her. While we were we talking a couple of guys came up and stood in front of me. One of them was a friend of Dawn's old boyfriend. He was drunk, and standing over me, and said, "Stand up." I tried to ignore him, but he said it again. I knew they wanted to fight me, and I was worried I'd ruin my tux. The third time he said it, "Get up M*F*, I'm going to kick your ass." No sooner had the words left his mouth and I saw a blur on my left side, and saw Bobby ivanello sliding across the hood of the Mustang. In a flash he grabbed the guy and punched him square in the face. As blood was gushing down the front of the guy's shirt, Bobby grabbed him, and said, " You don't talk like that in front of a lady. Now apologize." He apologized, Bobby let him go, and he stumbled off with the other boy. The epilogue to the story is, I was sure the guy, who will go unnamed, was going to be looking for me, and at school I saw him coming down the hall along one of the wings, with two black eyes and his nose taped. He walked on by me and then stopped and called back to me, "Hey, sorry about the other night."
BTW, thanks, Bobby.

Been more than 50 years and a memory of you I can't shake was in 10th grade. I'd been in the hospital for a couple of months and was in a wheelchair. I'd gotten to class after lunch a few minutes early and for some reason Michael, you came in to the class early too. You had on your letter jacket and I asked you what you'd lettered in. You said 3 sports. I said, aww, you're lying. You then rushed over to my wheelchair and started strangling me, saying, you're not a liar, not a liar. I managed to get out that, you weren't a liar, and you finally let up.
I'm just wondering if you remember that. Probably not something you'd want to repeat now, but a vivid memory of our high school days. I used to think if we met again I'd have to restrain from snapping you like a twig to even the score.lol

Great to see you spent so many years as a teacher. A noble though at times trying profession.
