David was a sweet, quiet yet vibrant kid who didn't seem to have a bitter bone in his body.
We sat next to each other in class senior year, and I think he may have already been sick, I can't recall but we teased and laughed til the cows came home.
Somehow we started calling each other buzzard, don't ask me why. Finally, toward the end of the year he leaned over and handed me a hand-painted sign: "You buzzard!" it said. I cherished it long after he passed away. It still is pasted in my scrapbook.
we were music majors together at cal state. he was a great friend and brave soul. he fought to the end. his whole family has suffered greatly due to luekemia. 3 brothers-gone. you are in Gods orchestra!
Dave was an incredible musician with an infectious laugh. I took the whole summer in 1973 to memorize The Entertainer on the piano. Dave and I went to the practice rooms at Cal State LA so I could perform it for him. He asked me to play it a second time. He then took the bench and proceeded to play it almost perfectly without ever practising it before!

We will all see you again, Dave.
