I am so sorry to hear this news.  I grew up down the street from the Hannegans.  Wonderful family.  Rick and I attended grammar school through high school together.  He was so kind.  I felt like he accepted all people.  We had some classes together in Jr. High School.  I always considered him a "true" friend, meaning, it didn't matter what neck of the woods you came from, he had no problem being your friend.  When we were seniors I would walk up the street needing a ride to school.  I can still see his parents sitting there with a smile and Rick coming out to greet me and take me school.  We had conversations on the way to school, I still to this day remember some.  About 16 or 17 years ago we communicated by email, giving each other updates on our lives.  He ended with a kind ending as with me, as a friend, he always did.  I hope he didn't suffer, he didn't deserve to suffer.  I wish I could have seen him one more time.....rest in peace Rick, you were truly a one-of-a-kind loving man.  Linda
