In Memory

Ross Yarnell

 YARNELL, Ross
(Age 47)

1/28/1963 ~ 3/11/2010

Ross Yarnell passed away peacefully in the early morning March 11, 2010. He was surrounded by family and friends who shared with Ross how much joy he had brought to all of them and how courageous he had been in his two-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Ross was an amazing husband, father, friend, coach and businessman. He loved to water ski, golf, watch movies and go on family vacations. He was born in Portland, but spent most of his youth in Spokane, where he graduated from Ferris High School in 1981. He moved to Oregon to attend Oregon State University, where he met his wife, Mindy. They wed in 1993 and had two children, Kaitlyn and Cameron, who both have his smiling eyes, kind heart and were the light of his life.

He is survived by his brother, Scott; sister, Allison; and mother, Dee. A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010, in Calvin Presbyterian Church in Tigard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tigard Youth Football.

To our fellow Saxon classmate Ross, may you rest in peace. We will honor you at our "30" reunion this summer.

Ross,

Your passing saved my life.  I learned of you leaving us while sitting in church.  The news hit me hard but it prompted me to see my doctor to check on my own health.  Some serious health issues were spotted and addressed.  After making some lifestyle changes my health is now in check.  I'm sure I would be gone today had I not seen a doctor when I did.  I owe you my friend.  Rest in peace.  We'll miss you and we'll never forget you.

Ross,

Our 30 year reunion is just days away and I so wish I could see you again.  You are so couragous and a hero.  We all will miss being able to see you.  You will always be remembered.  As you watch over us Saturday night, watch for our tribute to you and to the others who have passed.  You saved my life, rest in peace buddy.

Ross,

We missed you, we honored you, we didn't forget you.  Your class photo on the remembrance board is exactly how we remembered you and how you will always be remembered.  The video tribute brought tears.  Everyone really missed you last night.  We released a balloon for you.  Look for it in heaven, it's white with a flashing light.
