Happy 2022, a little late to all. Time goes fast, hard to believe our 50th. was really about two and one half years ago. Looking back, we were fortunate to get together prior to all the COVID problems we have all witnessed. Thought we would share a bit of information, or just write a new note to get in touch with all.
First, last summer, we had a bit of a mini reunion. Deb Vandereyk made some arrangements in Sauk Rapids to allow a bit more parking around her place so more of us would be able to meet. Word was spread best it could via email, facebook, or text. This resulted in about 30 of us getting there per Deb. Permission was gotten for a bonfire, with lots of food available via pot luck. Weather cooperated well for a nice summer evening. Pam and Dave Appelgate supplied music as they do so well with their system. A nice relaxed atmosphere prevailed. Deb said it went so well she is considering hosting one again this year. Will try to follow up on that this year. A big thank you to you, Deb and all who worked on this get together.
Something nostigic to mention. Are you missing your class ring?? Mary Steffes contacted us and said a 69 Cathedral class ring was found at an Avon beach. She posted in the email a picture of the message online. I went there to the site and sure enough, there is a message. So, just put in, "Old St Cloud Minnesota" on google or any search engine, It will open the site. Scroll down to the message, "TheRonBusse", it is a paragraph talking of the ring and that if you know your initials on your ring, relay them, and they will make arrangements with you to return the ring to you. Hope this helps someone find their ring! The site is kind of interesting if you like to look back a little.......UPDATE on the class ring. Margaret Ganz Putnam read the information and knew when she looked at the site who to talk to. The Ron Busse site reports that with Margaret's help, he returned the ring to Snooky Curson. There is a picture and all on the site. He gives Margaret all the credit at finding this happy conclusion. Its a fun read.
Some sad news. If you read the St Cloud paper or get it online, you know Phil Welter just passed away, January 22nd. His obituary is also on the Daniel Funeral Home site. Norm Zirbes passed last summer I believe. Just know practically all of us knew these gentlemen pretty well in the day. Guess just another indication of how we are moving into life's twilight.
Wishing all well. If you have something you want us to post, please get in touch. We will try. Enjoy a great year!
