David Brian Dunk, 74, of Snyder, Texas, died peacefully on Dec. 18, 2020. Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at Bell-Cypert-Seale Chapel with Reverend Steve Highfield officiating. Services were under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

David Brian Dunk was born May 09, 1946, in Lodi, Calif., to Dallas and Lois (Carver) Dunk. He married Judy Kay Larson on June 8, 1968, in Shelby, Mont. He graduated from high school in 1965 from Sunburst, Mont. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967.

In 1978, he moved his family to Snyder to work for Schwan’s foods. He worked for Schwan’s until 1986. He was loved by all of his customers. He later went to work for Key Energy, where he retired.

He was an active member of the American Legion Post 181 in Snyder and he served as co-treasurer for a short time. David was a free spirited, fun-loving guy. David was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. He had a huge heart and was extremely generous. He looked forward to his daily outings visiting with friends at the local coffee shops and in his free time he loved to restore old vintage vehicles. 

David will be remembered fondly by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, proud American patriot and U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy; two daughters, Stacy Parker, of Aledo, Texas, and Jodie Sorrells, and son-in-law, Kyle, of Petersburg, Texas; four grandchildren, Lori Cast and husband, Michael, of Aledo, Texas, Matthew Parker and wife, Chelsi, of Odessa, Texas, Kyla Sorrells and Tanner Sorrells, of Petersburg, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Tripp and Beckett Cast, of Aledo, Texas, Beau and Cutter Parker, of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Dick Dunk, of Sunburst, and Carson Dunk, of Kalispell, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Lois Dunk, and son-in-law, Steve Parker.

Memorials can be the Montana Veterans Memorial Flag, PO Box 56, Sunburst, MT 59482. This memorial flag will be flown in David’s memory at the Shelby Veterans Memorial Park.
