In Memory

Nancy Horgus (Whitt) - Class Of 1969

On the morning of Aug. 27, 2022, beloved mother and grandmother Nancy Horgus-Whitt passed in her sleep.

Please join Nancy's family from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Shelby Elks Club to celebrate Nancy's life and view one of her passions: her art work.

Nancy was born to George and Marguerite Horgus on Feb. 15, 1951. She had a lively childhood growing up in Sweetgrass, Mont. After graduating from Toole County High School in 1969, she attended Montana State University, where she pursued her love of art and earned a bachelor’s degree in art

Shortly after graduating from MSU, she married her high school sweetheart, Randy Whitt. Randy and Nancy experienced many adventures together, living in California, Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. Together they had two children, Bryan and Jessica Whitt.

Nancy fiercely supported and loved her children and grandchildren above all else until her last breath. In addition to her devotion to her family, Nancy was a true artist. Drawing inspiration from her life growing up on the hi-line, she worked in color, oil, paint and more. Throughout her life, Nancy’s art was often exhibited in various art shows within her communities, and she also dabbled in teaching. Her closest friends and family will have her memory permanently woven into their life because of her work, which she so graciously shared.

Nancy is survived by her son, Bryan, and his wife, Tasha; daughter Jessica and Jessica’s daughters Amaria and Jasmine; brothers John Horgus and Roger (Janine) Horgus; sisters Gayle (Tim) Buckley and Michelle Horgus; former spouse Randy Whitt; and friend/partner Cliff Hanna.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Glacier National Park, Nancy’s favorite place
