virginia was my mom who passed away from breast cancer in June 1972. We moved from Sunburst in 1957 so I never made it beyond 4th grade in the school system. Still have a lot of relatives who live in the area.
Virginia Johannsen married Francis Engel in May 1943 in Columbus, Ohio. She had 5 children, Edward, David, Margaret, Robert and Richard. Francis and Virginia moved from Sunburst in 1957 when transferred by Texaco, Inc. to Casper WY. They resided there for 2 years when they moved to Great Falls MT in 1959. In 1962 they moved to Long Beach CA. Virginia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1969 and passed away in June of 1972. She was a substitute teacher at times in her life but her greatest passion was sewing and she pursued it to it's fullest even taking tailoring classes later in life to learn to make sport coats for her sons. She missed her calling in fashion design!
