
Cora Louise Campanian (Hannon) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Sept. 6, 2024, she was 90 years old.
Mrs. Campanian was born on May 26,1934 in Sunburst, Mont. She was the oldest of five children. Cora lived her childhood by the Sweet Grass Hills in the Sunburst area and graduated from high school there. She studied nursing, and married Dean Cline in 1953. Though they later divorced, together they were blessed with four sons, Bob Cline, Ron Cline, Harry Cline and Tom Cline.
Cora was a Christian, loved music, and was an accomplished pianist. Her boys were also very musical and loved fishing with their uncle Frank Sonnemaker. Cora was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and licensed beautician, who also loved to paint. She was quite the artist. She loved helping others and it gave her joy to mentor her close family with music.
In 1988 Cora met her soulmate and husband, Howard Daniel Campanian. They spent 25 happy years together, living in Portland, Ore. Howard called Cora “the love of his life” and the feeling was mutual. Cora enjoyed working as an Activities Director for a retirement community in Gresham, Ore., with her closest friends, Tiney and Teresa.
When Howard passed away in 2013, Cora moved to Vancouver, Wash., to be close by her niece and namesake, Brenda Louise “my angel” and Wayne Pipes “my Mr. Wonderful.” Cora was surrounded by love and close family, enjoying special visits with her youngest son, Tom, her sisters, Loraine, Darlene and Fae, and their growing families. Cora was a wonderful mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend to all who loved her, and she will be sorely missed.
Cora was proceeded in death by her parents, William Lloyd Hannon and Hazel (Sonnemaker) Armstrong, Thurman Armstrong, Edith Hannon, her husband Howard Campanian, three sons, Robert Cline, Ronald Cline, and Harry Cline, her brother “Duffy” W. Lloyd Hannon Jr., and niece Gina Ritchel.
Cora is survived by her beloved son, Thomas Cline (Lisa C) of Nine Mile Falls, Wash.; three sisters, Loraine Collins of Redding, Calif., Darlene (Harvey) Corn of Kokomo, Ind., Fae (Howard) Stene of Sunburst, Mont.; brother-in-law, Danny Campanian (Rachel K); sisters-in-law, Pat Onsager, Linda Schuff; four grandchildren, Veronica Cline, Huey Cline, Ashley Cline, and Mathew Cline; three honorary grandchildren, Antonio Jeller, Annika and Erik Christensen;five great-grandchildren, Nica, Dara, Mesa, Leah, and Grayson; nieces, Brenda (Wayne) Pipes, Teresa (Danny) Brock, Beverly (Alan) Wade, Judy (Mike) Mora, Joni (Randy) Richmond, Deborah McKinney, Robyn (Ryan) Washburn, Angela (Randy) Beckstrom; nephews, Rodney Stene, Gary (Terri) Collins, Jeffrey (Ronda) Onsager, and many great nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at 3 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Garden Chapel, 1101 NE 112th Ave, Vancouver, WA, 98684, and a “celebration of life” dinner to follow in the home of Wayne and Brenda Pipes, Vancouver, WA, (360) 921-0998. Please RSVP.
