I told Ernie not to do this , but he is so deaf ,or is that daff ? , that he did it any way !
I marred Ernie in Sept of 1961 , His father warned me not to , (I should have listened . :>) )
After high school I attended Northern Montana College @ Havre . MT. I taught my first year @ Lowell School in Gt.Falls the school year of 60-61 . on a 2 year credential . After marriage I continued on @ Northern , I received my BS in the summer of 1962 . Ernie also went to school and worked till he finished his BS in Dec of 1966 . Since then the BS has never stopped . ;)
I taught grade 3 @ Devilin Elementary School in Havre from 1963 to 1966 .
After Ernie finished the BS @ Northern our next stop was California where Ernie taught Industrial Arts for the next 2 years @ Merced.
While in California I was asked to help write the kindergarten curriculum used in Merced County school system . It was a bitter sweet job but worth the time and effort .
After 2 years in California We headed home to Montana where Ernie took a teaching Job @ Eureka.
We lived out on a Ranch and I got to be a stay @ home mom .
Then in 1969 we moved back to Sunburst where Ernie leased a farm from his Uncle .
I loved gardening , farm life , substitute teaching when called .We both became involved in community organizations .
In 1976 we moved down the road to the farm where we currently reside .
Ernie retired from farming in 2008 after I said I was no longer going to be the non paid hired man .
We have leased the farm out , but remain active with the Yard and MY rock and flower garden .
Ernie is just a big kid with big toys now . He has added on to his shop and added some nice machine toys , and keeps busy "making ,tinkering " or what ever .
Our lives have progressed past the Grand parent stage (6) to being Great Grand parents .(13)
