After graduation, I atttended Western Montana College and received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I taught in the Shelby School system from 1984 - 1991. I was also working part time as an Immigration Inspector at the SweetGrass Port of Entry. I married Kevin Gates, Toole County Deputy, 1991. At that time I went to work full time at the Port of Entry as an Immigration Inspector. We divorced in 1998. In 2002, I went back to Georgia to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center to be a Customs Officer . I worked at Sweetgrass until 2007 when I transfered out to the Port of Whitlash. I retired from Customs and Border Protection on December 31, 2019 with over 34 years.
