I miss Tom, when my wife and I lived in Hawaii we had dinner together and we all had a good time.

With impish smile and irrepressible sense of humor, Thomas carved his unique niche in the hearts of Sweet Grass and North Toole County friends. By the time he suffered the accident that left him in a wheelchair, he had lived in Libby for years; even so, his family and old friends in North Toole County quickly organized a benefit that raised some $10,000 in one night at the American Legion Hall. Tom never ceased to be amazed and humbled by that show of affection, and he never forgot those old friends. Thomas Balf remains forever a cherished child of Sweet Grass and a proud product of NTCHS.
