Comments:

Went to school in Sunburst form Kindergarten through 8th grade. After 8th grade promotion (Mr. Longin wouldn't let us call it graduation as it used to be) moved to Kalispell and went to 9th grade through Junior year in high school. Then moved to Polson and graduated in 1973. Went to a business school in Great Falls for 2 years and returned to Polson. Got a job at one of the banks in Polson in 1976 and have lived here since.

School Story:

Dreaded those deadly science fair projects (which we had to do or get an F). I always had a picture of some birds pasted to some board while others had some kind of volcano erupting or some other electrical contraption. One great memory that sticks in my mind is 8th grade basketball when Mr. Bays was our coach. All during 6th & 7th grade we could never beat anybody except maybe Kevin or St. Mathews. We always lost to Shelby, Cut Bank, Conrad, & Browning. I remember Mr Bays talking about going to the conference meeting and being told by all the other schools that Sunburst will never win a conference game. But our 1st conference game in 8th grade was against Cut Bank in Sunburst and I remember the A Squad boys from Cut Bank chanting during the B Squad game "Go Go Go Beat the Pussy Cats". We as the A Squad went out and beat them. It was the first time in our Junior High career we beat a team in our conference.
