Doris Ann Maxwell Hofeldt
February 17, 1935 - December 8, 2019

Doris Ann Maxwell Hofeldt, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Born in Watertown, South Dakota on February 17, 1935, she was the daughter of Jess and Ethel Maxwell, and the oldest of nine children. Her family would eventually settle in Montana, where she lived a majority of her life. Doris is proceeded in death by her father Jess and mother Ethel, husband Calvin Baughman and husband Donald Hofeldt, brothers Neil and Jerry Maxwell, and sisters Lynette Mitchell and Sandy Bucher.

Doris was kind and compassionate which led her to a long career as a nurse for 52 years. She first started her career in the U.S. army, and then continued in private practice and multiple hospitals in Choteau and Great Falls, MT before retiring in 2010. Doris enjoyed playing cards, dancing and singing, and spending time with her family. After moving to Boulder City, NV in 2012, Doris could be found often at the senior center playing a game of bridge with new friends. She was an excellent baker and never went a day without a warm oven. Everyone always requested her famous buns at parties and gatherings.

Doris leaves behind her daughter Paula (Brandt) Bruner, son Jim Trueblood, step-daughter Michelle Hofeldt, step-sons David and Tom (Cindy) Hofeldt, sisters Gloria Suta, Kay Hedalen, Irene Cady, Diana Anzalone, grandchildren Kyle, Jessica, Matthew, Heather, Kyle, Jordan, Afton, Heidi, Shane, her great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on September 11, 2021 in Choteau, Montana at the Choteau Country Club at 3:00 pm.
