Have not been on the site for a while, fun to read all of the posts.  Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving filled with all four of the major F's...Family, Friends, Food and Football.  We missed the friends part but we had a wonderful visit with the Elder Felter's and Rich's younger sister and her husband.

Good morning Connie, and to all who read this.  Thank you for the greeting, and a Merry Christmas back to you, many times over.  Each year gets just a bit harder, but I feel more blessed each year as well.  Next year Alison and I return to Mexico to work with orphans, but we have a nice condo to live in in Mazatlan so if anyone wishes to see what life in Mexico is like let me know.  Phil

I too, send my very best wishes to everyone - for whatever season you celebrate or don't celebrate.  Hope everyone has a great new year. I don't usually make new year's resolutions, but this year I have made myself a promise that I will learn to quilt!  I have long had a desire to cut, sew, and create so this is the year!  It has been on my bucket list awhile now.  You know how that goes.  LOL  Would love to hear what others have planned for 2015,.

Hope y'all are all well and launched into 2015.  I came across this website about the Viet Nam memorial wall.  I often think of Bob Cote.  Maybe some of you remember Manuel Casares, who I think was the same age as Bob.

This is really sobering. First click on a state. When it opens, scroll down to the city where you went to high school and look at the names. Click on the name and it will give details of the person's death, a picture or at least their bio and medals.

This really is an amazing web site. Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create it.

I hope that everyone who receives this appreciates what those who served in Vietnam sacrificed for our country.

Thank you very much for sharing this information.  I will pass it along.  It's so important that we remember our Veterans and appreciate them.

I used to live down the street from Bobby Cote.  I knew all of the family well.  It was really sad news to hear about his passing and at such a young age.  He was such a wonderful human being that was taken from us way too soon.  I have so much admiration for all our men and women in the armed forces, who keep us safe.  Let us always support and never forget them.

Happy New Year, class of 69.  I read Mike Douglas' post and It brought back memories.  I've been told of how Bob Cote passed away. I think Bob and Manuel Casares were from the class of '68. I remember Manuel well because he and I would trade comic books.  He would have the latest DC action comics.  I could not afford the latest (12 cents) but he would sometimes give me a break and trade me an old one for a new one. Great guy. By the way the web site Mike mentioned is: www.virtualwall.org. The web site also mentions Gilbert Louis Mitchell and William Theodore Anderson Jr.  FYI.

I'm a little slow on the birthday wishes.  Belated best birthdays to all you spring chickens.  My son's birthday is St. Patty's.  He got a torn Achilles this year, had surgery, and is awaiting their 2nd son any day, to be named Jasper.  I'll not be able to forget Coach Jasper, for sure.  They were trying to be so original.  I almost hated to break it to them that my old coach is named Jasper.  They are going to have their hands full since he will be in a hard cast for 6 or more weeks, and using a little scooter or crutches.  His wife suffered with post partem depression after their first, which we are praying to avoid this time.  Not good. Went through some hard times with that.  We just returned from the Gulf Coast for a few days at Spring Break with all the family except that Dallas group which is so busy right now.  Good times with family.  Grand kids are so fun.  At dinner we'd all go around and say something we are thankful for.  My little 2.5 year old, David, looked around and pointed at each of us individually and said, "You, and you, and you, and you...."  It was so cute and surprising it brought tears to my eyes.  Not hard to do that though.  Get all of that that you can, 69ers.  Have a Blessed Easter and Holy week coming up.

Hi to all! It's been too long since I've posted anything. I am keeping up with all the posts & activities even if I don't comment. 2014 was not a very good year and was very busy for me. You may have read in the Tehachapi News that we lost Dad in May, 2014. He was 91, had a good long life & we miss him. He & Mom had been living in Alpine, Texas for the past 4 years so I could look after them. Mom's health declined after that and she & we kids decided to move her back to the Sacramento area near Paul & wife (Fair Oaks) & Mary (Napa). We found a great place for her & the move was done over Labor Day weekend. Mom continues to decline in her health. She will be 92 this August. My husband, Harry, was diagnosed in November with prostate cancer. He saw a specialist in San Antonio in December had surgery January 2015. The cancer was more aggressive than his biopsy showed so we were glad he had the surgery. Our bright spots were that we had 2 granddaughters graduate from high school (we attended both) with 1 being Valedictorian! That was a great moment! I'm hoping that I will stay in touch with the class more often. Again, I always read your posts, just don't always comment. Happy Spring & Happy Easter!

Hi Ann, glad to see you on here!  I am not on often, but I try to post every once in a while. We lost our Dad 4 1/2 years ago, he did not make it as long as your Dad did, he was only 83..  We miss him terribly, we are grateful to still have Mom and hope to have her for many more years.                                                                                     I am so glad I saw your post, I am sitting here having a drink with the grandson you helped deliver or take care of after his birth, I am not sure which, but it was at Palmdale Hospital, 22 years ago!  Kathy

Hi! Kathy! Great to see your post, too! I have many wonderful memories of Palmdale  & AV Hospitals & it was great to  go back & remember. Really, 22 yrs old! What I do like about this site is hearing how those who post are doing & the B'day reminders. It's great getting older with everyone else - ha!  Happy memories to all!

Hi Rick,  I hope that 64 treats you well.  Is everything going ok?  Any plans on retiring, or is your service to God going to keep you at the helm?  Alison and I are in Mazatlan working for a couple of orphanages.  We have only been here 2 weeks, so we haven't fully plugged in, and there are many things to get taken care of while we have some spare time.  I spend quite a bit of time brushing up on my Spanish.  Have a great day.  Phil
