Howdy everyone, I haven't been on here for along time, but, I'am back now! WOW the big five O is here- how can that be? Didn't we just get out of school in June! Lol,lol. Where has all those years gone? Time flys when your having fun or living life. Anyway, I was looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up on the latest, I even ordered up a couple of special shirts to wear for the reunion & the O/T picnic ( to show my roots & pride in my hometown-posted photos on my profile to see). Well, life has it's own schedule & due to some unforeseen issues that have come up it's with a very sad heart I will not be able to attend our reunion, this is the first one I've missed & it's "The Big One". I hope everyone has a Super - Fantastic time! I really was looking forward to go back to Kelsey's & The Burger Spot ( for a burger & fries like the good ol'days) if it's still there & not tore down like the bowling alley. Becky - if the park doesn't work out for the group photo, maybe at the Burger Spot with their sign in the background would be cool - as that was our "hang-out" & turn around for "cruise'n"!  And being it is Ann Moore's birthday everyone can sing happy birthday to her & live it up! A big thank you to Becky & Claudia and everyone else for all the hard work to put this reunion on, your the back bone of our class. So with that - I hope everyone has a Super-great-fantastic time!! Live it up & be safe in your travels.

I posted this somewhere else on this site so you may get doubles!  Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy reunion.  I am so disappointed not being able to come.  My niece is getting married on the 3 rd.  Have a great time and post some pictures——I’ll be thinking of you guys!

So sorry, Bill &, now Kay, too, that you won’t be here! I guess several of our class mates will not make it - will miss you all! My husband, Harry, & I got here this evening & even tho it is “hot” all around, the temperature is fabulous here. Good old Tehachapi mountain temps hopefully will be wonderful for this weekend!

Looking forward to seeing everyone who will be here, missing those who are gone, those unable to be here & celebrating the entire Class of ‘69 & what we all have done the past 50 years!  Hugs to all!!   Ann

This message is for all the classmates who attended the 50th reunion.  I need the ones I haven't contacted yet to send me your home addresses.  Ann Moore is making another quilt with the signatures of all the classmates who attended the reunion.  If I have not contacted you yet, please send me your home address on the private message section of this website.  That way it will only be visible to me.  As soon as I get everyone's addresses, I will send them on to Ann Moore. She will then send you the paper to sign and she will send an example on how to sign it.  Thanks everyone...I had a great time, did you???  Please send these addresses to me as soon as you can.  It will be greatly appreciated!!!  Thanks and I love you all.  Let's not wait another 10 years to see each other again!!!!    Connie Carter Brown

Hi to all those living in Tehachapi.  I need some help:  my duplex in Tehachapi needs to be completely replumbed and it is difficult to get quotes.  Any suggestions?  Phil  818 437 5831

Hi Phil,

Where are your duplexes? I had no idea. John the Plumber has a very good rating here in town. His number is 661 834-8031.  Another option is Dan Langdon 822-0929. He has done work for us and he's very good.

Let me know if you need anything else>

Becky

Good morning, and thanks, John, for the well-wishes.  Alison and I are in Mazatlan.  Today, Thursday, we work at Ciudad de los Ninos, a Catholic orphanage.  Just maintenance things, and sorting donations--that type of thing.  However, unlike most Thursday there the children will be there since they are out of school.  It is always fun to see them.  I hope all is well with you and that 2020 is a great year.  Phil

Phil, you are so good to keep in touch with us through this forum. Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Alison. Chuck and I are temporarily stuck in Vegas -- came here to spend Christmas with my brother and intended to head to Bakersfield this morning to get together with our kids on way home to Oregon but a snowstorm intervened, so we're waiting for roads to reopen. Do you still have place in France? Best wishes for a great 2020 for you and all of our classmates!

Hi Claudia.  I understand your situation.  Our home in Lake Arrowhead has several feet of snow and the roads are horrible.  Even with 4 wheel drive it is difficult to get around.  Our son is staying there but has had to stay down in Palm Springs due to the snow.  Alison and I are roughing it out in Mazatlan in 82 degrees!  Yes, we still have the place in France and will be going there in May for 90 days.  That is the maximum stay in the EU without getting special visas which are expensive and a pain to get.  We hope to finish it this year.  We still have one bedroom and bathroom to complete, insulate and drywall the "grenier", or attic, and do a lot of painting.  When those items are done we will refinish the wood floors.  We had several, 12, windows replaced over the winter so we also need to put a finish coat of paint on those.  Hopefully we won't have to worry about leaks like we did with 100 year old windows.  I have to watch out a bit more these days--I'll be 69 this week and doing the heavy work is getting harder, and riskier.  Maybe you can understand that?  lol.  Anyway, thanks for you reply, I hope you have finally made it back home, and that 2020 treats you wonderfully.  Phil

Belated Merry Christmas to everyone.  Happy New Year!!

Claudia and Phil I hope the snows don't do damage to anyones residences and that the roads get opened up soon, Claudia, for you and Chuck to make it home.  I've seen some pictures of Tehachpi and the snow is like it used to be when we first moved to Tehachapi in 1961.  It is very beautiful, but I don't really like it anymore.  Living in Missouri and the ice storms is not enjoyable at all.  So far this year we have had a very balmy Holiday Season.

It has been in the high 50's and low 60's.  But I'm sure January -March will make up for the warm weather.

Tim and I so enjoyed the Reunion this past August and also the Old Timers Picnic.  We are planning on returning again this next August.  Hopefully we will be able to see a lot of you there.

Again, Happy New Year.  Everyone take care and slow down.  The broken bones are not worth the pain.  Tim still suffers from his broken ankle from Jan, 8, 2018.

God Bless everyone!!

Hi all, good to hear from you.  Phil, I love that you and Allison work at a Catholic orphanage in Mexico...Mexico is nowhere on my bucket list, not with the way things are going currently.  How did I miss that you two are refurbing a house in France, France is definitely on my bucket list!

Claudia, are you still unable to get home?  My husband would be  in total panic if that happened to us.

Nancy, I hope to attend the Old Timers picnic next year, 2019 was a money pit sort of year for us,, God willing, 2020 will be a little less costly and I can do a little traveling, if only to Tehachapi!

We have also had a snowy winter, but it is expected here, so snowplows are at the ready, unfortunately, we live on dirt...mud... roads, always an exciting trip, once we leave the black top.

Wishing everyone a blessed New Year!

Good morning Katherine,  Yes, we bought a 300 to 400 year old place in a town of about 2000 people in the northwest part of France.  It is right in the center of the town and had been vacant for 35 years.  It was going to have to be torn down in a couple of years due to the neglect so we got it for almost nothing.  The rehab, or course, is costing us plenty!  However, when we finish we will have almost 5000 sq feet, 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and plenty of other space as well.  La Cave, or the wine cellar, is 800 sq feet with racks for almost 1000 bottles of wine.  Unfortunately none came with the property.  We can see the castle from our place, which is 1 block away.  The bakery is across the street so we have fresh croisants whenever we would like.  Yum.  We have furnished most of the place by going to "vide greniers", famous flea markets around France.  The town is Lassay Les Chateaux, look it up.  Anyway, we will be there from mid May through mid August, the maximum time allowed in the EU with special visas.  I hope this is a better year for you.  Best of luck.  Phil
