Thanks Nancy and Tim.  I'm hoping for a consensus. I think this would be alot of fun.  The owners are letting us use the entire restaurant if we decide to go this way.

Sorry friends, but I won't be able to make that early date.  I hope you all have a wonderful time and post pictures so I can at least "feel" like I was there.  Phil

Hi, all! I agree with having our reunion the weekend August 3-4 to include the Old Timer's Picnic. Having the Saturday gathering at Kelso's, also, sounds fine. Thanks, Becky, for looking into that. Several have mentioned wanting to have a casual evening and that sounds just right.    Claudia, you mentioned having a Friday gathering - anybody have thoughts on that?    Phil, so sorry that you will not be there! I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures to be shared. We will miss you!

Well I think we should definitely pull out the old bell bottomswink .  I think a Friday evening get together is a good idea.  We have some options. We have some wine tasting rooms here and by next summer we will have a new one in the middle of downtown. He is a local grower and I'm told his wine is excellent. His space could accomodate a group. We could also have it in someone's back yard. Volunteers?

We have a great selection of hotels in the area. I can call them and set aside a block of rooms.  We may even have a new Hampton Inn by then too. They serve breakfast.

Please share your ideas. We want everyone to have a good time!

Are we sure we will be allowed at the old timers picnic. Isn't that just for old  people. We cannot not be that old,I for one refuse to be!I've that we are.

Mike Douglas

Happy birthday last year everyone who can still read!  Thanks for the mention last August Phil.  Pretty obvious I have been scarce around here.  I cannot believe it's been 50 years.  Randy Redelsperger lives in Texas now, and I have seen him once.  He's well.  I guess I'd better start cleaning up if I plan on showing up this summer.  Old Timers weekend seems a perfect fit for us now!!  When people ask how I am I always answer, "good for a geezer."  Aug 3,4 is ok with me.  Own being Old Timers, yo.  I think we will be in Europe the first part of summer.

Hi Mike,  sorry I will miss you at the reunion.  It was just too early for me to get back from France so I regretfully will miss seeing everyone again.  (especially since there are less and less of us each year it seems).  So, I hope your trip to Europe is a good one--where are you going?  Phil

Happy birthday to Rick, before you know it we will all make it to 70 (God willing).  I hope you and your family are doing great.  Are you still preaching?  We never hear from you.  Let us know.  Phil

There has been some confusion about whether we pay for lunch at the Old Timers Reunion.

Here is an official statement from the committee:

RSVP'd Oldtimers' lunches are free of charge if you RSVP by July 25th: Oldtimers@bak.rr.com or call 661 822-3228.  No RSVP will be a $10.00 charge. Additional family or guests are $10.00/person

Water is provided. Beer, wine and soda are available for purchase.

Sunday, August 4 at the City Park. Registration begins at 10:30 am and lunch is at noon.

This is a well attended event and you will see people you probably haven't seen in many years. I hope you will consider going. It's time well spent.

Hi Guys!

It seems impossible to think it's been 50 years since we graduated! We're old now!  That can't be true!  I still read your responses to each other and realize most of you have been friends for most of your lives.  I wasn't too happy when my railroad dad said "We're moving to California" in the middle of my junior year. I had a boyfriend in Tucson (who by the way is still my boyfriend). My junior class numbered about 700 while my new one was much smaller.  I thought I would hate it but I loved it!   Back in Tucson I wanted to be a joiner (kinda nerdy but oh well) I wanted to be in drama club and journalism, student council but I never got the chance because the school had close to 5,000 kids. When I found out that there was room for anybody at Tehachapi I was thrilled.                                                                                                                                                                                       Then I found out that Tehachapi kids were friendly and cool and didn't judge you by what brand clothes and shoes you had!  That was a real relief  but I had built up a few Capezio Shoes and Villager skirts and shirts. Nobody had heard of them in Tehachapi! Ha! I made  a lot of great friends in Tehachapi and looking back, some of my best friends are gone; Linda Koehler, Dennis Gray, Sid and many more. I feel much wiser now but beaten down with some of the trials of life.  I have had lots of health problems in the last 50 years and the death of my youngest daughter in 2010 and my mom's illness and death in 2013 has taken its toll. Because I have been inactive for a long time I am seriously out of shape.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      What I am trying to say is that I want to attend the Reunion but I can't be sure if I will be able to.  It all depends on my health and my husband's schedule. He retired once but he's back at his job as a school administrator. I have family in Bakersfield so I won't need a hotel.  I think it is great that you are meeting at Kelcy's.  My parents loved that place! It's iconic!  Tehachapi has evolved and changed so much but it seems to have kept its small town feeling.  I hope to see you but if I don't , have fun, happy memories, old friends, celebrate life, think of me a half second, goodbye! Hi Everybody,

If you served in the military but do not have a flag next your name on the classmate list, please advise us so that we can make that correction as soon as possible.  We want to make sure that those who served are recognized. Thank you!!

Hi Everybody,

If you are planning to attend your 50th class reunion, please get registered so we know who will be there. Met with the owners and finalized the plans.  They are as excited to host the reunion as we are to be back there again.  We are planning a Friday gathering at one of the restaurants.  We'll let you know as the date approaches. I'm sure that those traveling will appreciate a bite to eat and a welcome from your classmates.

We've got lots of nice hotels right down the street from restaurants and the reunion.

The deadline for registering for the Oldtimer's Reunion free lunch is quickly approaching. If you plan to attend please register soon.  wink

If you have a special need and we can help you, please do not hesitate to let me know.

So looking forward to seeing each and everyone of you.  Party time!!!!!!!

Lots of Love,

Becky
