Hi, LInda, and happy birthday (I think I overshot it by a day, but my heart is in the right place). I hope this finds you well, happy and healthy. You are probably the sweetest, most upbeat person I've ever known, and I'm so very glad to know you.

Um... those fires in Tucson didn't have anything to do with your birthday cake, did they? My kids have told me that my cake is now presents not only an imminent fire hazard but a threat to the environment.

Charlotte was a special person - bright, personable and such fun.  Thinking of fun brings me back to the days of waiting for the bus with Charlotte to take us to Utterback Junior High.  Such a sad tragedy to lose her so soon.

John was a friend of mine since junior high days and lived down the street from me in Terra del Sol.  He was friendly and very fun-loving.  I remember feeling very sad when I found out that he was killed in Vietnam.  When I traveled to Washington, D. C., I did find his name on the Wall.  It made me proud to know him and that he had served his country, giving his life for us.
