Comments:

I feel very fortunate to have been blessed with good health and have had a happy 39+ years since graduation. Even though I have enjoyed a successful career as an office administrator in education for more than 30 years, my most important contribution and joy has been raising a fine family and celebrating three grandchildren.

What are your memories of high school (i.e., secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did in high school, favorite high school hangout, favorite teacher(s)?

Cathy Smeltzer and I shared lockers all through Junior High and started High School in the same homeroom. We again agreed to share lockers, but Cathy got mad at me and I ended up sharing lockers with Sue Warsop. Best thing that ever happened! She was so smart, I could borrow notes etc. and my grades improved. Sue didn't mind Tim hanging out at my locker and we shared through 10th and 11th grades. Then, as seniors, remember we had our very own locker!!!! Wow!

I had so much fun being a cheerleader and attending cheerleading camp. I was very athletic and just regret that there were not more sports for girls available.

Mrs. Hooker was one of my favorite teachers and also Mrs. Baggerly (now Alanis). I learned so much from both of them.

Where else have you lived?

I have lived in Coldwater and now for the past 20 years in Muskegon.

What is the most unusual job you've ever had?

One summer when my job at Coldwater Community Schools as an administrative assistant was downsized, I worked as "Handy Girl". I advertised for wallpapering, painting, gardening, cleaning, window washing, etc. My very first job that summer was to build a chicken pen! I worked every day doing something different and I really enjoyed it. I was somewhat dreading going back to my office job in the fall!!!

What did you always want to do that you haven't done yet?

I have always wanted to travel. I would first like to visit all states within the United States, but I would also love to visit the Europeon countries. It is like most people, when you have the money you don't have the time and when you have the time, you don't have the money!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to garden and work outside. You know that saying you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl! Watching and nurturing a small plant into a thing of beauty is very gratifying. I also like to spend time at the beach and I am fortunate to be 1/4 mile from Hoffmaster State Park on Lake Michigan. I pack a lunch, ride my bike there and spend the whole day.

What would classmates be surprised to know about you?

I am so transparent and willing to share, I don't think there are many things my classmates don't know about me!!!

When my life settles down I really would like to write a novel of fiction. I have many ideas, but at this time, I can't spend the time it takes to write to that extent. I would like to be a published author.

How/where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I see myself still here in Muskegon working as an Administrative Assistant of Human Services at Grand Haven Area Public Schools. It is a wonderful job with new challenges and interesting issues every day. I am very healthy and enjoy life, my wonderful family and feel centered and comfortable. I have five weeks of vacation and the ability to have additional time off if needed.

What is your best story or memory of Fabiano's (Tony's)?

Fabianos was where we all hung out. Remember Grandma Fabiano had a "No nicking" (translation No Necking) rule. Well, since Tim and I couldn't keep our hands off each other, she was constantly jumping out from somewhere saying "no nicking" to Tim and I. "I'll call your parents!" she'd say. It only kept us at bay for that particular moment!

What is the farthest you've ever been from home?

I have never had the chance to travel very much. I have been to Florida, Arizona, and Colorado. I have never even had a Passport.

But one of these days....... I'll join Sandy and retire to Italy! We'll be a couple of winos!!!!
