2024 EHS reunion picnic

PICNIC UPDATE

I SATURDAY JULY 20, 2024! UPDATED POST

Saturday July 20, 2024… Save this date! Come one, come all Edgewood Alumni to the EHS All Class Picnic at Hurst Ranch Historical Center (1227 S Orange Ave, WC) Hours are 9-5 pm.

A minimum of $10 donation at the door is requested for each person to help defray costs for the venue and to help in funding the yearly scholarships EHS Alumni awards to graduating seniors. Any additional donations are certainly welcomed and appreciated! Our costs are increasing next year therefore the entrance donation has as well.

Parking is available at the church next door (south side) or on the street. If you have special concerns about parking please reach out to us. Please do not leave any trash behind in the lot or around the ranch.

Sign in will be under the pop up tent before you enter. Find the sign for your decade, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s + Lions, and be sure to sign in so we can know who is here! As pages are filled they will be posted outside of the hall. Class of 1974 will have their own sign in due to the 50th reunion turnout. 👏

The air conditioned hall (yes, it was fixed) will have tables set up that seat 8 - 10 plus extra chairs are available as needed. We will have some table markers for each class year, but it will be first come to use them to designate your class table (if you want one)

Bring your pop up covers, coolers, food etc that you need for your group if you plan to set up outside.

Watch for separate posts with times the class photos will be taken (so tell your classmates) as well as a post to volunteer for an hour at the sign in tables. We will also be asking for volunteers to commit to early morning set up, trash detail, help selling water, and after event clean up and to put tables and chairs away.

DJ Mark will be near the door with a speaker to the outside so we can all hear the tunes. He does his best to accommodate all of us. Tips are welcomed!

We will have the same food vendor as last year. They have a local restaurant called Taquisa and we had good feedback on the quality of the food. We do our best to anticipate the number of plates needed so please purchase your ticket as you enter. A ticket will be needed to collect your food from 11:30-2:00.

Cold water will be sold in the Alumni booth outside for $1 a bottle. We don’t currently have plans for sodas to be available. Alcohol may be brought in and consumed on the premises ONLY. Please do not risk our relationship with the ranch by breaking the rules. Also NO picking of vegetables and stay out of any yellow taped off areas. Please…. Clean up all your own trash, cans, drink cups, bottles etc.

No smoking allowed in the building. Ash cans are outside. Please no butts on the ground.

The alumni committee is looking for new members that are committed to continuing this event into the future. If you would like to join our team of dedicated Alumni, please let us know!
