John Schramm

Jan (John) Eric Schramm        June 1, 1946 — December 11, 2013

Jan (John) Erik Schramm (67) passed away from a heart attack on December 11, 2013 while vacationing in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico. He was born on June 1st 1946 in Schleswig Germany, to Dagmar and Gerhard Schramm. He immigrated to the United States in 1951 and became a United States citizen in 1954. As he liked to say his first job was leading the Hokey Pokey at Lynnwood Skate. He attended Edmonds High School and graduated in 1964.

Jan enlisted with the Army shortly after high school and served as a Staff Sergeant in Stuttgart Germany, Kingston WA and Vashon WA. He left the Army in 1972 and started working as a supervisor at K2 on Vashon Island. Jan left K2 to work for Pacific Northwest Bell, in Portland, Oregon. He took early retirement from Qwest in Seattle after 25 years total service and began working at T-Mobile in Bellevue.

Jan loved boating, the Seahawks, travel, his pets, a good scotch and mostly his family. He is survived by his wife Diane, his son Michael and daughter-in-law Donna, his grandchildren Stella and Evan, stepdaughter Kelsey Anglin, and stepfather and stepmother William and Sherri Foster. Special thanks to Mark and Catherine Johnson who were vacationing with Jan and Diane in Mexico upon his death.
