With great sadness, Chief Ezra Foster passed away on Feb 28, 2023.
He recently had shoulder surgery and was doing well, but developed pneumonia.

Funeral Information

On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, CMSGT Ezra “Brother” Foster transitioned from this early life to live in God’s Heavenly Home.

Ezra was born on September 1, 1949, in Burnwell, Alabama to the late Ezra Foster and Flossie Jenkins. At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and joined Saint Joseph Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor B. Lyons. Later, he moved his membership to Robins AFB Chapel, where he was a faithful and active member. Ezra grew up in the Yerkwood Community in Walker County, Alabama. He was the Class President of T.S. Boyd High School, where he graduated in 1967. After High School, he was employed with Jim Dandy Company in Birmingham, Alabama. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, California and became employed by the May Company. He’d go on to retire honorably after 30 years of service in the United States Air Force. In his free time, Ezra could be found hunting, fishing, and golfing.

In addition to his parents, Ezra was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Ann Foster, and his siblings, Shirley Ann Smoot, Edna “Sister” McCoy (Aaron), and Johnny “Rock” Jenkins.

Ezra’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Birgit Foster; his daughters, Cynthia Durden (Keith), Linda Pleasant (Elliot), Dorothy Hudson (Clarence), Janet Schulz, and Marion Bradley (Jerry); sons, Larry Caudill, and Tony Caudill (Cherri); grandchildren, Robert Foster, Cortney Haynes (Jia), Elliot Pleasant, Brandon Pleasant, Nichole Haynes, Ashley Patrick, Tierra Pleasant, Kennedee Pleasant, Ina Hudson, Kristen Hudson, Tamara & Martin Schulz, Sierra Vance, Michaela Payn, Emily Caudill, and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ardella Henderson; brother-in-law, Hosey Smoot; special cousin/brother, Bretford Griffin; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, classmates, friends, and hometown community of Yerkwood.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Ezra will be laid to rest at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

This is terrible news;  Chief Ezra Foster is well loved in the 435th OMS ENROUTE FAMILY.  I was hoping to see him & wife in the reunion in BRANSON.  My deepest condolences to the Foster family.  “Erza, ..have a pleasant Journey, I will miss you….”
