Where has 40 years gone? In my mind, I think I'm still in my late teens, early twenties, but my body tells me otherwise.
How do you get 20 Midpark students out of a pool?

06/17/08 06:23 PM #3

James D Rieker

Dave - does that mean you have given up pole vaulting?

06/18/08 01:15 PM #4

David A Coad

yep, but still have that daredevil gusto in me.
Answer to first Midpark question: throw in a bar of soap!
Next question, how do you get 20 Midpark students into a swimming pool?

David A Coad

answer to second question-throw in a penny.
What's the difference between a dead squirrel on the road and a dead Midpark graduate on the road?

06/29/08 07:04 PM #6

David A Coad

Answer-there are skid marks in front of the squirrel.

I think one of the teachers was moving from Berea High to Midpark and someone offered him a brown tie to wear with a orange suit. I wonder if that ever happened (he wore an orange suit, not that he wore a brown tie).

I can send you a copy of the senior activities section of the 1968 yearbook in Microsoft Word format if you'd like it. It has all the names of the class members and the list of clubs and sports, etc. they did. Just send me a message through my profile (scroll down to the bottom of the profile).

We now have the 1968 Class Will on the site, as well as a Links page with many other Berea High classes, and some good local history sites.

Anything you have that you'd like to see posted send to me at nissende at msn.com.

Hi you old folks,

I just arrived lasts evening...staying at the Ramamda..I brought my bike and rode around the town this AM. Quite enjoyable. i plan on ordering a Pizza King pizza sometime....that looks like the only restaurant that is still there.

There are lots of places in Berea that have not changed a bit in 40 years and some that are unrecognizable. I went into the new BW Phys. Ed. facility only to find that they built the whole new building around the old fieldhouse and the floor looks the same and the stairs that we used to run look lower and easy to run....once!. I was over in the children's center across Bagley road from Berea High and I was just wondering who may be having a fight on the circle on Saturday AM, maybe Adeboi?? Anyone remember that?

Hello everyone,
I have posted the photos I took at Tony K's and the Lakeside Yacht Club - what a great weekend!

http://picasaweb.google.com/ianpmcgregor/BHS_40th#

I tried to get around to chat with everyone, but I missed a few of you, and for that I am sorry.
We were all very fortunate to have grown up in Berea.
Peace and happiness to you and your families,
Ian

I was really happy to see all of you who made it to the reunion last weekend. I am still aglow from the energy and excitement of seeing long lost companions who shared the formative years of our lives. How terrific that so many of us became teachers and helped to shape the next generations. Don't believe anything Ray Martin says about me!

Check out the Berea High School class of 66 web page under "links". Go to "The Good Old Days" on the left side of the 66 home page. There are numerous pictures of 68 classmates from Aquateens routine. Also some other pictures as well.

Hi,
I wasn't able to attend the reunion but I have enjoyed looking at the pictures and reading everyone's bios.

I have been working at the Ohio Public Defender's Office as an attorney in the death penalty division (not as grim as it sounds) for several years. Last year Cathy Wilder joined our staff as an attorney. I see that she is in the Fairwood 5th grade picture, although she moved away from Berea before we started high school. Sadly she passed away from cancer in January. I thought I would let those of you who might remember her from grade school know.

Best wishes to everyone for a nice holiday season.

Hello Everyone..hope all is well. Spring is coming, along with the rain..we in Findlay are experiencing flooding again. Thank goodness I do not live near the Blanchard River. I welcomed a new grandchild to my family on Feb 24, 2009...a little boy, Ari Edward. All are doing fine and Grammi Delma is thrilled.

My best to everyone.

If you're in the Cleveland area, you probably saw the publicity this week regarding Berea Schools. They're tearing down Fairwood School to make way for a new elementary school. If anyone is interested, there will be bricks available on a forthcoming saturday. I will advise as soon as I know the date.

Grant, I heard about that several weeks ago so last time I was in Berea I drove by just to relive some memories. So sad.

To Grant:
Fairwood bricks will be available this Saturday, September 5 from 8:00 AM to noon as long as the supply lasts. This will be the last chance for bricks as the building is totally gone. Kathy Gregg Beckman

Hi Everybody!

I just read about Connie Menchoffer Bozell's passing and was shocked and blown away!  I visited her shortly after the reunion website was established, but never followed up with a second visit or even a phone call.  I guess I'm feeling guilty for ignoring someone I could have been a friend to but was too lazy to make much effort.  Does anyone know how she died?

   I looked through the senior yearbook pics and realized how many of you I remember!  The same feelings and impressions I had then came washing over me.  I so wanted to be part of the popular crowd, but wasn't;  I made fun of the "geeks", and for that I'm truly sorry--I was so immature back then.  I apologize to anyone I snubbed or treated badly.  Maybe that's really why I didn't come to the reunion or the birthday party--I was ashamed of who I was then, not to mention the fat old woman I've become! :{

I've realized that life's too short to waste it on being mean or competing with others.  Jesus said to love one another as He loves us.  I haven't done that very well.  I haven't cherished the friends I had growing up.  To Cathy Ware, Vicky Marsh, Becky Manley, Diana Behr, Sherry Lynch, Cindy Robbins, Mary Marting, Pete Nestor, Nick Stanich, Eliot Sroka, Win Quigley, and so many others, I thank you for being my friends and wish you God's blessings--comfort, guidance, courage, love, and eternal rest with the Father.

GO BRAVES!!  BE BRAVE!!

Betsy (Short) Anderson

Betsy,

I just read your post and am shocked...I saw Connie at the reunion and she was typical Connie. I don't know what the cause of her passing was but will ask around and try to find out.

By the way, I think you were just shy....I don't remember as being snobby or treating anyone badly....I always thought of you as a pretty cool chick( the jargon of the time).

You are right though that life is too short.  Forgive and forget the bad things and make someones today a little better with a smile, a thank you or a hug. It works wonders.

Peace

Ray Martin
