Harold E. (Hob) Zephier VIEW PROFILE

Harold "Hob" Zephier, 60, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010.
Hob was born in Pine Ridge, South Dakota to the late Alvin and Gertrude (Trimble) Zephier Sr. He met his true love Denise Wulff, while working at Pisanello's Pizza and they were later married March 25, 1978 in Prout Chapel at BGSU and she survives.
Also surviving are his children: Glenn and Keir Zephier, both of Bowling Green; two sisters: Francine (Jerome Driscoll) Zephier of Strongsville, Ohio and Adrienne (John) Heinz of Port Angeles, Washington; two brothers: Alvin (Rosalee) Zephier Jr. of Rapid City, South Dakota and Richard L. (Melissa Robbins) Zephier of Batesland, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Guy and Phyllis Zephier.
Hob was a Residential Appraiser for the Professional Appraiser Service in Findlay, Ohio.
He was a 1968 graduate of Berea High School, where he was a member of the cross country and track teams. According to his sister, Francine, a very proud moment for Hob was when he ran a half mile in 1:57.


He was a 1979 graduate of BGSU, earning his Bachelors' Degree in English. He was a member and Past Worshipful Master of the Wood County Masonic Lodge F & Am #112 and the Greenwood Chapter OES #159, Bowling Green. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Bowling Green.
Hob was a member of the Oglala-Lakota Sioux Tribe and was also of Yanktonai Sioux descent on his father's side, where he learned about his cultural background. He was a four-year Sun Dancer.
Hob was an avid Notre Dame football fan attending many games and was considered a good luck charm to his family and friends because he witnessed the Irish's two biggest comebacks in school history against Oklahoma and University of Southern California. Hob also enjoyed cheering his favorite NFL team, the Cleveland Browns.
Hob loved his morning coffee, enjoyed cooking, and loved to travel with his wife, Denise. Some of their most memorable trips were traveling overseas to Bulgaria, and visiting all of the United States.
Another highlight for Hob was stopping by the actual "Field of Dreams" and running all the bases.
He also loved to write and send cards and letters making sure he did not miss anyone. Hob was a gentle, kind, and caring man; he would help anyone and had a great sense of humor.
Visitation for Hob will be Friday, October 22, 2010 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster Street, PO Box 648, Bowling Green, OH 43402 Tele: 419/352-2171. Additional visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 12 Noon until the time of his Funeral Service at 1 p.m., in the Remembrance Chapel of the funeral home.
