Dickie "Honest Abe" Finke RE: White Fence You need to have MGS tell his story of his "encounters with Dick Finke's fence". SUMMY ????? BTW, I had an e-mail last week asking me how to use bold text etc...in their messages. For anyone who doesn't know, use the html codes located at the top of the page when you type your message.

I found this site this week and am impressed with the efforts to put this site together. I have enjoyed surfing thru all the names. Although I was in the class a year ahead of you, I have fond memories of many of you. After leaving school I was in the military and spent 2 years in South Vietnam. Upon returning home I spent almost 34 years working for Duke Energy (Cinergy) and retired in May of 2006. My last assignment was as Plant Manager of the Edwardsport and Wheatland Generating Stations. I am currently a licensed Realtor and work in real estate. I sincerely appreciate the invitation to become a Guest Member of your site. Thank you!

Great picture of you on 41 south of Princeton. I kept your lights on when you lived in Owensville and then Princeton east side. Glad you signed on.

At least we tried to keep your lights on.

Thanks for keeping the lights on, Pat...at least most of the time. I guess I never realized you were with WIN Energy or if I ever did I had forgotten. Now here is one for you to ponder. Did you know I played golf with your son Matt and his father-in-law a few months ago. Again, I never made the connection. I liked Matt...he is a good guy. I can't remember if he got any of my money on the golf course or I got some of his?

I'm guessing it's Michael George Summers. He was so cute well he's still cute I'm guessing. Of course when Tom gets on he'll have all of those AKA for the name but no matter what it's still Mike summers

Loved the class picture of all of the kids. The sweet little faces brought a smile to my face. I did see a few mugs there that I could recognize.

I noticed this and since Leslie brought this to my attention...the Judy Stout in this picture is obviously?? not me. I hadn't thought of this in years, but early in high school I repeatedly was called to Mr. Vogelsong's office for some misdone deed...a case of mistaken identy.

Hey I think Michael Land was at one time signed in on this website because i was thinking he lived in the same state as Rich. Am I wrong or Am i right? Can you just make yourself disappear? By the way Rich I lived in Fayetteville NC for a short time. Lived there when the Blue Laws were BYOB. Try getting a bartending job in that state. Instead i went to work at Fort bragg as a bartender, the year I was there they changed their Blue Laws. I remember driving through that state and it was so beautiful and green and smelled so good.

Mike has not been on this site. He knows about it, but so far he has not signed on. Leslie, maybe you saw him on Facebook. Mike lives on the other side of town from me. He lives in Southeast Charlotte and is an OB/GYN there. Mike delivered my son, Harrison back in 1987. I can't sue Mike now. I think he always said he was responsible till age 21 for anyone he delivered. I have spent a few nights at Ft. Bragg Leslie. What years were you there? I have just finished scanning about 30 pictures Leslie sent me. I will put them on the site from time to time. They are great pictures.

Well, a day late and a dollar short. Is there a consolation prize for knowing the Hula Hooper Kid is Richard Finke? Honestly, I am jealous of anyone who can keep the hoop going long enough for someone to snap a picture! Never could get the hang of it. lol

Welcome the site: Henry A.! Gerald! Mike S.!

What a sweet bunch of kids in the Vigo school picture. Some of you were in my 6th grade class the next year. I never knew y'all were shuffled around that much.

Have any of you reading this been to Edwardsport lately? Duke Energy sure has changed the landscape.

Hey Tink - I knew I could get my old pal Summy to come out of the forum closet!! Hey Summy I do believe we were in Ms. Jordan's typing class together. Believe it or not I can still, after all these years, type 2-3 words per minute!!!!
Hey Grab - I'll bet there is a squeaking noise when you give old Matt that investment money you tight Kraut!!! I hope Matt is putting it all in his inheritance fund!!!

West-failure Boy We Krauts can't help it we are tight-asses, it's in our blood. Now that Summy is out of the closet, does that mean I can send Dick some pictures of Summy to post at the homepage ? Hey Grab.... Look at the time Roark logged in (12:59 pm) He is one that doesn't have to work.....probably just got out of bed !! And one more thing..... Only one NK70 grad has mentioned the new music player at my profile page. (She rated it very highly) I put much thought & effort into said player. I am going to try to post new music there every month. So, check the **** thing out....please ? Now excuse me, I have to go bury my money in the backyard. Danke !! Von Tinkster

If anyone is interested in knowing, i just got back from seeing Gran Torino. WOW Unlike any Clint Eastwood movie ever. You'll love it!!!!!!!!!!

I am interested, I have been wanting to see it

A PUBLIC APOLOGY TO WEST-FAILURE BOY: Summy has pointed out to me that Roark is back amongst us common folks and has returned to the workforce at the Duke construction project at "Cinder City". Summy has also vetoed any posting of embarrasing photographs of himself that I may have.......(of which I have several).

Luellen: I was just passing through beautiful downtown Freelandville this lovely winter afternoon, when to my surprise, my eyes happened upon a highway "detour" sign at the intersection. The intersection I speak of is the one that has been the scene of many mischievious doings in years past. Apparently, St. Hwy. 58 is closed for bridge work to the east of our city and traffic is detoured at the intersection, south to the Freelandville suburb of Bicknell. Oh my, this has triggered memories of another detour sign from about 1968. My question for Jeff is...."DO YOU THINK I SHOULD ?" Undoubtly, he will have a big smile on his face !!!

Hmmmmmmm.....what to do ? I think I will wait on J.W.'s answer before I proceed. Of course, it ain't a gonna be no fun unless the troops are all there on the corner to enjoy it (ala summer of '68). Summytime Yes, I recall the Barber Shop bench as it turned into a crispy critter. And also, I can still remember...............well, I better shut up, the "irate citizen's brigade" might still be looking for us ! LOL And you know, it was so hard to get any sleep at night back then because of "those **** burnin' motors". We can thank that Gary Gilmore dude for that memorable phrase that will go down in the anuals of Kraut Town history !
