Mercy, it's been 40 years and all of us have changed in one way or another.

I'll be the first to admit that none of you will recognize me now. Most of you won't remember what I looked like then! (I wasn't very remarkable then.)

Yes, I'm hitting the treadmill right now trying to lose a few pounds. Yes, I wish I you could see me like it was 1969. Yes, there are some that will be instantly recognizable when we see you.

This is all about celebrating surviving in the past 40 years. We are all here with a knowledge that there have been good times as well as not so good times in the last 40 years. We're still here because the good has more than counterbalanced the bad. We don't need to dwell on the bad, acknowledge the good, and celebrate survival.

So, POST A PHOTO! Include whomover will accompany you to all the reunion shindigs! (How's that for proper English. Thanks Mrs. Arthur.) Let us celebrate with you the fantastic things that have happened in your life that brings you back to Borger in June of 2009.

Time is getting close for our reunion. We have some very unique items from our time in Jr. High and High School. Please bring any item you would like for others to see. No for sale signs. Please sign up if you haven't done so, we need a good count.

I think that this reunion was one of the best we have had. It was great seeing everyone. Missed all the other classmates that couldn't make it. You missed a good one. God bless each and everyone of you, take care and hope to see you at our 45th reunion.

Love you all,
Pam Walton Carlock

What a great time it was and looking forward to the 45th already. Thanks to all the Borganites and Pampaites and anyone else who put together the reunion. Great job.
Thanks to Glenda for putting together the webpage and hope we can find and add other classmates for future reunions. If you didn't attend, you missed something special..Billy Morris

What an amazing time we had. I just wanted to recap a little bit for those who were unable to attend. We had about 50 people at Lorene's for dinner Thursday night, no name tags so we had to ask. A lot of pointing and talking. Friday we decorated the Soiree in the afternoon and started registering at 5:30 p.m. There were probably 100 people in attendance. We went to the "Dawg House" formerly "Teen Town" and toured the new facility then we went back to the Soiree and visited for a while (Pam tells me some were there past Midnight). Some sturdy souls went to the Americinn hospitality room set up for us for a little extended visiting time.
Golf at Phillips Golf Course brought out about 26 guys and gals to participate in a four person scramble. Tom Brandon, Terry Harbin, Lance Messenger and Chuck Littrell (a ringer brought in by this team) won the whole enchilada with a 61. Mark Hollen won the motormouth award for the most talking on the golf course and Eddy Madden won for the worst hangover (evidence on the Fifth Hole in a couple of places). If Eddy had kept from throwing up he could have won the motormouth award.
There was a good crown at the brunch on Sat. Morning and the golfers came in about Noon and tried to eat all the leftovers from the Brunch.
Saturday night was the final banquet for the weekend. We gave awards for the farthest from Borger, Jan Bevins won that (we did have to help her figure out how far it was from Minnesota to Borger), the longest married was as usual Ron and Debbie Roberts Hollar 40 plus yrs. Bryan and Kandy Ekstrand Hanna were a close 2nd. Youngest child went to Tom Johnson and his young wife with a 4 year old, you go Tom. Most Jobs Held went to perennial favorite Mike Steinkoenig, what a well rounded individual. We got a group picture made in front of the Morley Theater and several individual photos made by our professional photographer The Link to his site will be posted on this website. If you took pictures, please post them on our website.
We are going to keep this website going and encourage all of you to keep your profile updated, especially your addresses email and regular. Can't wait for the 45th.
God bless you all and thanks for coming and making this one of the best reunions yet!

Forgot a couple of awards, Greg Blake got least changed with a close second by Kandy Hanna (she said it was because he was the same size) and Kay Mullen got the most grandkids award. I'm sure more will come with time, most of you have total recall, I definitely don't.
Check out the photos on Vaden's link on the home page.

Even though I was 2nd in the "least changed" contest and a guy beat me, I would have to say that all of us "old gals" looked pretty darn good. Great to see everyone, even those I didn't recognize!

Sounds Like the Reunion was alot of FUN. I wish I could have been there but with this HEAT we were having some issues with one of the Power Plants and I had to work. Missed seeing some of my OLD Buddies and Friends from School.
I wish Dewey had put names on his Pictures and the Photographer would have done the same so I could she who had changed. I didn't reconize anyone. So I guess that I will have to wait until the 45 Reunion to see everyone.
I still plan on coming to Borger and spending some time this summer. Maybe some of us can hook up then.

What a great weekend!! So many thanks to all of the commitee; if I tried to name everyone there would surely be someone left out. (Hint--please list the crew on the website.) And what a treat to see all of the returnees! I am truly blessed to be able to call this Class of 1969 from Borger High School my friends--each and every one of you! You all look wonderful, and those who couldn't be there with us were missed and remembered.

I have uploaded some photos from the reunion on my profile page. After just one week, the old brain wasn't certain that all were correctly identified, so help me get them right if you recognize someone either not identified at all or incorrectly done. Batteries died or there could have been more......

Wow! I have had a "blast from the past" looking at all of the pictures from the reunion. I am SO sorry I missed seeing all of you...even though I was a "newbie" at BHS, most of you probably don't know that I was born there and spent most of my early years visiting family and friends of my parents in Borger and Phillips(my mom graduated in '45 and my aunt in '44 from BHS; I recently took Mom to visit two of her high school chums who live in central Texas. It was amazing to hear them talk about their high school years, and even I could make connections with some of their friends whose children were either in the class of '69 or close. My dad graduated from Phillips in '47 and played for the Blackhawks...hence the connection between Chesty Walker and my husband's offense here at Liberty Hill...a version of Walker's wing-T known as the slot-T. Jerry even uses a version of Coach Walker's rules! Amazing that Coach Walker's influence is still being felt today! Of course, he was tutored by another Phillips Blackhawk, Coach L.G. Burr Henderson).

Anyway, I think you all look great! And, Kandi...I really think it should have been at least a tie between you and Greg. I would have picked you out in a crowd anywhere! Way to go, girl! How do you do it?

I hope everyone will continue to post their memories and observations of the reunion. At least if I couldn't be there, I can read about the fun you Bulldogs had! I hope the next five years are good to each and every one of you.

We have had some suggestions of a cruise, maybe after the next reunion. I would like to know what you guys think. If we decide to do it we can start early and pay monthly until time to go. Cruises are cheap right now. Let me know what you think.

What a blast that would be! I've only been on one but I would jump at the chance to do another. With the group of folks that we have, we could rock the ship...

Glynda is going to work up a way that we can voice our opinions on what kind of reunion to have. We might even leave after the same kind of reunion and meet in Galveston to get on a cruise ship. Any way we have plenty of time to decide. Voice your opinion!

Cruise sounds great to me also. Never have been on one. My husband would always go to Cozumel scuba diving in December, I couldn't go because I was teaching.

In response to your message Jackie.
I am sorry that you did not get to come to the reunion. It really was a fun time. I really wasn't one of the in crowd but now after 40 years, it doesn't make any difference. Everybody is more friendly to me now than when I was in high school. And I don't know who told you that it was the same as high school because it wasn't.
As for the cruise. We talked about having a reunion here in Borger and realize that not everybody can go on a cruise. And for the ones that want to go and can go, then if that's what they want to do then they should go for it. But I am sure that we will have another reunion here in Borger in a few years. Hope to see you there.

In response to Jackie, please click on my name, above, to go to my profile, where I commented in length to my experience attending the 40 year reunion. I certainly was not a member of the "in" crowd during high school. The reunion was a very positive experience for me, not at all like Jackie portrays. Seems like time is the great equalizer, at least for our classmates. There was one person who was in my high school "group" who did not attend because he expected just what Jackie discusses. He was the one who really missed out.
