I hope we can get more people out next time! Thanks for all who took the time to come to either the picnic or to Oakridge or both,.... You all made my year!!!! Love you all and to your families!!!

Bob Pierson, you made my day! Thank you for the thumbs up to the activities. We worked hard and I am happy to hear it was a success.

Thank you to all who chose to come.

To those who did not attend because of fear, anger, hurt feelings, insecurities or " I didn't like high school, why should I go to a reunion?" PLEASE PLEASE reconsider. These are the people who may have hurt you, may have ignored you and may have kissed you and dumped you. They are the people who helped shape you. You bounced off of them and they you.  It is for me, a wonderful time in ones life. To be closer to death than to a prom and FINALLY be able to know who you are, to visit without judgement and see what your old friends are up to. Not what they look like, who they married or what they drive, it's just fun to touch based with human beings we used to know who are still putting one foot In front of the other, trying the best they can to make a difference and live a proud life.

I loved it . I would have loved it more if more people had joined us. But I enjoyed seeing who came. I found several people who I had not known well in high school to be VERY delightful and I had a great time connecting with them. So don't say you see who you want to see, you never know who you are missing out on knowing better.

P.S. If in the future you or anyone you know are unable to attend for financial reasons, there is s slush fund for this. Please contact a committee member next time. Please do not stay away for this reason . ??

Dear Braves of '74,

Ever since last January when we first met at Kneaders, we have been texting, emailing, planning, calling, worrying, and hoping this 40th reunion would be meaningful and fun! We are so grateful those who chose to and were able to attend the events! The big payoff was to hear the shouts of recognition, see the hugs, hear the laughter, watch people lingering to catch-up on the past 40 years. It brought me joy to see this, and also to read the comments that reach out to others on the new class website. All this and more made all the planning and worry more than worth it!

It was wonderful see and visit with many people that I didn't know very well in high school. How wonderful to shed the insecurities of the teen-age years, expand our comfort zone, and just celebrate the fact that we have survived this long and shared our growing-up years together in high school! That is worth celebrating!

Please don't stay away next time around if you are unsure about attending.(See Becky's comments about financial concerns). NONE of us have escaped the effects of aging and most of us have been through very hard personal experiences. There is something healing with coming "full circle" and re-establishing connections to our youth. Yes, we are older and (hopefully) wiser, but that young person is still a part of who we are!

I'm grateful to each of you for the part you have played in my life's journey. May all the goodness you give come back to you, multiplied many times over!

I just want to thank all of you who worked so hard in putting the party together. You did a beautiful job !!!  I had a blast and felt like we didn't miss a beat in our love for one another. So good to see you all and as said hook up with people I didn't even know very well. It was like once I looked into your eyes everything seemed the same as it always was.     Thanks again, Deb Hymas

To the Class of '74;

It was a pleasure to see many of you at the picnic at the park.  For those of you that I wasn't able to talk to or to catch up with I offer my sincere apologies.  Sometimes if you have to come from a long ways away it makes it easier to dedicate your time to great events like this.  (I left to attend a wedding reception for one of my sons close friends)

Randy, thanks for bringing up the best watermelon in the world.  This time of year I always make it a point to stop in Green River to partake of one of Utah's best products.  The cookies and other treats were great as well.

To all of the organizers thank you for taking the time and making the effort to set up this website where I hope we will continue to reach out to others that may have not been contacted this time.  Let's all try to continue our efforts to find everyone we can.

I loved seeing one of my favorite teachers there as well, it seems like Tom Tolman is one of very few I constantly run into when I'm back home in Bountiful.  If you haven't got him as a friend on your facebook account you are missing out.  (BTW I'm on facebook as Les Merrill,  email is merrill45@msn.com)

Best Wishes to all of you and your families.  Stay in touch

To Janine, Becky, Mary, Paul, and anyone else involved in organizing this a big Thank You. I hope I told you this at the dinner.  The CD is awesome. Had a long drive the last couple of days and listened to it twice. Good job (Steve M. ?) Really good to talk to & see everyone. The memorandom list really surprised me & makes me think of how fast time has gone by & how short life is. This reunion allowed me to remember alot of fun times and good people.

Thanks again,

Val & Julie Argyle

I'm so sorry to have missed the reunion. I really love seeing friends I had from high school, it is actually a goal of mine to reconnect with people who made a difference in my life. It sounds like you had so much fun. I will be sure not to miss next time, did you decide when that will be?

My husband and I were invited to be with some friends and were visiting islands on the Emerald cost of the Italian Mediterranean. Beautiful place indeed, but I would consider reuniting with friends a beautiful experience indeed also! Loved all of your remarks, Becky you were right on, (as always).  I feel we had a great class, and each experience helped me become a better person! Enjoy the ride, lucky we are all here!

                                                 Ciao  GayLyn Spjut White

I just heard the BHS CD on my crummy ride from Logan   (I go there every Tuesday)  I was really dragging  butt today and I flipped in the BHS CD.  Hell I knew every song!!  Just kidding,  Whoever made this CD was spot on with the music collection.  Its like a crystal ball to know every song I listened to in 1972, 1973, & 1974.  This old rocker was completely engulfed on this choice of music.  Thank You for your efforts whoever made this CD! If you did not go to the dinner and didnt get a CD.....

TOO BAD!!!!!

I, too, want to thank all the people who helped make the class reunion possible.   I appreciate the work that went into setting up the website.   It has been fun to read about what other class members are/have been doing.    I appreciate those who donated their time to set all this up.    Thank you.

The time really flew by on Saturday night, I had hoped to get to visit with more folks, but didn't get a chance.  Steve and I listened to the CD on the ride home - what a great idea to put that together!  Thanks again to everyone involved in organizing the events - we hope to see you at the next one!

Many thanks to the 40th Class Reunion Committee!

We had a marvelous time and enjoyed connecting with many of our classmates and sharing fond memories.  The evenings both flew by and we didn't get the opportunity to talk to everyone.  There are many that we had hoped to see that didn't come; hopefully, they will attend the next get together.

Yes, I will have to agree the time flew and even trying to keep time with everyone somewhat short ha ha I did not happen.  I could just not get around to everyone but enjoyed seeing the different groups gettting together to visit with each other again.  I was also able to find out what had happened to some friends that had passed on.  Although it made me sad to hear, it also made it eaier to understand their passing.  I hope we can countinue to reunite with other classmates on this site.  It is I think the best for the class to get to see or arrange individual meetings.  Thanks again for all the hard work the committee put in.  I listened to the CD yesterday as I worked loved it.  Let me know if anyone is headed this way through Green River and I will try to meet up with you.

All the best to all the members of the Class of 1974.

I love the CD and will freely admit to singing along to all of the songs! When "A Horse With No Name" came on, it took me right back to the BHS lunchroom when we had that new jukebox installed! Do any of you remember that? Thanks, everyone, for your feedback about the reunion! It was a wonderful weekend, and ALL of us had a great time! Do you realize that in only seven short years we will be "seniors" again?? Yikes!!

It's been a long time coming but I've been wating for this 40 year reunion. Been looking forward to seeing everyone and wondered what they've been up to, I finally got my chance and totally enjoyed the picnic and dinner and mostly good ole classmates. "Such great and awsome classmates". Not to forget about ALL the great people who put this great and enjoyable experience together. I had so much fun to converse with all of you, I didn't feel any descretion between any of us,but we all just gelled and enjoyed our good times at good ole BHS.

Thank you to all who made this possible !!!!!!!

Randi Powers (Reyes-Daley)

Dear Bountiful Alumni,

It has been a week since the Bountiful High reunion and I have spent this week reading the comments of how much the reunion was enjoyed and all the thank you’s to those who worked so hard in preparation of the event.  I too would like to say thank you and to say how much I have enjoyed the Bountiful website.  Many nights I was up late reading profiles and comments in anticipation of the reunion.  Actually, I am still up late reading the post-reunion comments and watching who is new to join.  I hope this site doesn’t fade away with lack of use over time, and that it will be more often utilized than those other social medias  - which I personally never really cared for.  So, onto what I took home with me, besides the awesome CD that we all loved and the candies I put in my office draw - I love taffy!  I went to this reunion with the intent that this would be my last.  Why, I was asked, and I flat out answered – vanity.  10 years down the road is just something I can’t picture.  40 was a reality check for me and the loss of fellow alumni made it seem harder. Then, when I got back to Denver, I read a post reunion comment learning that I was not the only one feeling this way and they too said it was vanity.  Well, okay I thought to myself, so what is my take on this now.  I concluded that, I would like to come back again - only 10 years is too long and I vote for 5.  But what really made me reach this conclusion? Many of you know that my second language is American Sign Language.  There are different modes of sign language, but American Sign Language, which this is the language use by the Deaf community, is the most beautiful with it’s body language that so expressive.  Actually, 90 percent of all communication is body language regardless if one is Deaf or hearing. What am I getting at, I’m sure you are thinking. Well, I’ll tell you . . . As we all know, time has its way of creating that disconnection that we once had with one another.  We have all changed over time but I saw two things that had not - eyes and body language.  I think what I enjoyed most, was watching you, my friends.  I looked into your eyes and they have not changed and as I observed your body language, your movements are the same – you really haven’t changed a bit.  I could see you as you were 40 years ago.

Randi Powers (Reyes-Daley)

Randi,That was a very beautiful message. I loved it. I hadn't thought about that, but it is so true.                What a magical time we all had in high school and it was so good to reunite and visit with all of you! I vote for 5 years to get together again too.

And Becky... if Gaylyn doesn't get to you soon enough, I will bring you cookies!!!
