If you want to know what people are donating as door prizes, check out Craig's List DFW. I have everything listed there under "miscellaneous for sale".

Friends of Dorothy Harris Rarick: I mailed the info on this site to Dorothy, but I see she hasn't updated her profile. Are we allowed to harrass people through the U.S. mail service? Hopefully it's not a federal offense. If you want to start a snail-mail campaign, here's her address:
24 Silverhills Lane SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123-9617
Unfortunately I don't have an email address for her.

So that none of you portly people would feel bad, I ordered an XX-Large T shirt. Hope it is square cut. If it is tapered, I may want to increase the size (Just so no one will feel bad). How will we know?? Carol???????

Jd Barnett:

Joe: I think she's the one. She was very tall, sort of dishwater blonde. Nice, nice person. We shelved books together at the Beutel library.

Donna Rae, as long as there are no overt threats and until Dorothy actually files harassment charges, it isn't an issue. Thanks for the suggestion.

Dee, I am not responsible for the t-shirts. Or the reunion. Or the caterer. Or the DJ. Or Alice. Or my dogs (well, yeah, probably my dogs). So,are you requesting a form fitting t-shirt? Do you want one custom made? Since you don't wear deodorant or shower or whatever personal grooming habit you lack & mentioned months ago, are you going to need a fresh t-shirt every day? Or for each event (remember the heat & humidity here)? How about we just keep a waterhose handy & spray you as needed? OH,MY,DEE ALLEN IN A WET T-SHIRT - THE IMAGE! I bet that increases attendance.

Margaret "Maggie" Dye (Carlton)
Last Updated: October 25, 2008
Residing In: 462 Pine Tree Drive
Estes Park, CO 80517
Spouse/Partner: James (Jim) Carlton
Occupation: Retired
Children: Carly born 6/8/1981
Robinson born 6/23/1982
Lily born 8/2/2005
Birthday: January 8, 1950
Comments: Hi Classmates!
Jim and I moved to the Rocky Mountains (Estes Park, Colorado, 9,000 feet elevation) in April of 2005. We have been married for 4-1/2 years and were literally blown out of Pensacola, Florida by Hurricane Ivan. What a lovely change! We live on the side of a mountain in a wonderful log home that faces Longs Peak, the highest peak in the Rocky Mountains (14,300 feet) - snow there already!

We live with our bright and beautiful three year old adopted daughter, Lily, and our two 100+ pounds Bernese Mountain Dogs, Heidi and Baby Jewels. And, our "bear-alert" -cockatiel, Flower.

We also have deer, elk, mountain lions and a very persistent bear who likes to look in our front door and visits us frequently. Strangely, this bear has a best buddy, a raccoon, who the bear lifts up so the raccoon can grab the hummingbird feeder and they can share the nectar. Sometimes it gets a little hairy with all the wildlife but we absolutely love it!

I am so sorry to report that the reason I missed the 40 year reunion is because I was not personally contacted.

School Story: I was just so shy in High School . But, one thing I really didn't understand was why we had to wear our skirts so long and why we couldn't wear jeans!

I hope yall are kidding about a contest for prettiest grandbaby. We all KNOW that our own grandbaby is the prettiest and we don't need anyone to tell us..RIGHT

Here are some ideas for safer and more applicable contests:

Highest blood pressure - Prize..classical music on CD

Lowest blood sugar count - prize...a case of Snickers

strongest eye prescription - Prize...seeing eye dog

Highest Cholesterol and Triglycerides count and still breathing.................NO WE CAN'T DO THE LAST ONE, IT WOULD REQUIRE OUTSIDE DOCUMENTATION AND BESIDES..... I WOULD WIN THAT ONE TO EASILY

BEAUTY TIP FOR TODAY!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Nancy...wrote me about brown spots..sometimes referred to as age spots. They are really brown spots caused from sun over exposure. My advice is to exfoliate regularly, but not so much as to irritate your skin. Remember me telling you about the Neutrogena hand held exfoliator? Use that on your hands after your face everytime or more often when you use on your face. You can use baking powder, salt, and a little jojoba oil with it for extra exfoliation These brown spots are under the skin, and after enough exfoliating can surface and flake off! Also, for really soft, smooth hands use some of your brown sugar and jojoba oil mixture...scrub with alot of friction, and keep scrubbing!!!!

News Flash...Jolie Chessher the prettiest little girl in the world will have her birthday June 3rd!!! She will be 3 years old!!! Yipppppppppppeeeeeeeee Nanny is going shopping!!!!!!!!!! Thank you GOD for my "angel" baby!!!! Love pink, pink, pink!!!!!!

Kathy, Kathy bo bathy fe fi mo mathy...Where are you??!!!

Love to all....have a great day!!!!

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Marvin, great pics. Gosh we had some good looking guys in our class! I was going through stuff trying to get my house inorder from my flood (painters should be finished today and tile and carpet on Monday or Tuesday) and found a newspaper clipping I had cut out more than 40 years ago. How I have keep up with this, I can't even imagine. I know I have moved around atleast 11 times but this clipping has stayed with me. It is from The Facts and it is our class group picture. I have given my secretary a month off and I have no clue how to post it on this site. I have to be honest, I didn't even remember to whom our Valedictorian (Harold Johnstone) or Salutatorian (Ellise Good)were. We all looked so great (and young). Maybe I can bring the pic to our reunion. Hey, Dee...got an idea!

Virginia Tolbert is also at The Plantation. She is in bad health and her memory is not so good but appreciates any visitors.

SAD NEWS.....I called the funeral home in Lake Jackson yesterday to see if I could find out any information on:

Margaret Louise LaValley

Buried under the name:

Margaret Louise Garrett
Died June 21, 1975
Location: Restwood Cemetery
Garden of Devotion #156
Responsible party: Celestine LaValley
Buried next to Margaret is man with the Garrett name
Not sure if it is her husband

05/29/09 10:26 AM #1174

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Denise, I will visit Ms. Tolbert when I go to see my mom today. Also, if any of you are at the Plantation, please stop by and visit my mom Betty Allen. She would be thrilled to see you. Also, Denise now that you know where I live, stop by!

Nancy C., don't worry about those age spots. Yes, if you can...fix them or wear them as if you deserve them. I have spent many hours in the sun working in my yard and I too see them coming. I think maybe everyone is seeing the effects of aging. My husband, which is 5 years older and looks 10 years younger, has none!! He was always the type to take very good care of himself and was a coach for a long time. So, keep that chin up Nancy.... you are beautiful!!!!!!!!

Where's Julie???

Buckzilla
Abraxas - Giant horned dragon of Persian mythology

05/29/09 12:36 PM #1177

Joy Garrett (Chessher)

Ok, I'm on the phone with my cousin Nancy and we are talking old times... do any of the classmates from Clute remember the athletic girls slumber parties we had in the gym with Mrs. Lamar? Do any of you remember how we skinnied up to the roof? Do you remember walking on the roof all the way over to the elementary school? Do any of the boys that peeked in thru the huge fan vents remember any of this? Ok, the statue of limitations has expired, so spill your guts!!!!!

Marvin -

Thanks for posting those pics from LJJH....and it makes me realize I was barely larger than a dwarf in those days, and understand now why it was my last year for football. Chris Schupp and John Devens may be smaller NOW than in 8th grade !! No wonder Dicky Pitts and I got killed in practice.

Marian - get your secretary back and post some pics so we can all relive those glory days....

The old photos are a lot of fun to look through...didn't realize how small we were back then. This message board is a kick to read, if only Joy would loosen up a bit and have a little fun with it. I did not notice that the next meeting is this Sunday..I think Claudette is still in Brazoria, I'll see if I can catch her drop in on the party. Thanks to the committee for agreeing to post my note on the scholarship; I do appreciate it...spread the news, we can help a lot of future BHS grads. I sure wish you would have fixed my spelling, after all Ah wint to skool an' lernt sum things. Happy weekend to all
