Please, please, please, Yvonne, e-mail me the pictures. I would looooooove to post them. Great!! YIPPPPPPEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS, WINONA! She dug up band photos from 1967 and I posted them under "BAND 'BLING'". W, are you gonna poster these, too?

Check out Janice Mangum's profile. She has posted a picture of herself, Suzette Kluge & Melissa McKinney in their Redskin band uniforms - PRICELESS! My stars, tiny little girls.

Please keep Tommy Dye and his family in your prayers. His sister, Maggie, died unexpectedly Monday. Became sick Friday and was hospitalized. That is all we know at this time.

I would like to ask this of anyone of our class that may know and would like to keep it to a private e-mail as I find it more appropriate. Bobby Allinson was a friend of mine and the last time I talked to him was before I went into the Army around 1971-1972. In fact he convinced me at the time to enter as a clerk typist as that was his MOS in the army. My inquiry is how did he die? I have had others ask me the question and I have wondered since the 30th reunion when I saw that he had passed. Tommy my heart goes out to you and your family I remember as a kid that you all were very close.

The real words:

Louie Louie, me gotta go.
Louie Louie, me gotta go.

A fine little girl, she wait for me.
Me catch the ship across the sea.
I sailed the ship all alone.
I never think I'll make it home.
Louie Louie, me gotta go .

Three nights and days we sailed the sea.
Me think of girl constantly.
On the ship, I dream she there.
I smell the rose in her hair.
Louie Louie, me gotta go.

Me see Jamaican moon above.
It won't be long me see me love.
Me take her in my arms and then
I tell her I never leave again.
Louie Louie, me gotta go.

Joe,

I'm still out here in Freeport!

Joe Ballard

Freddie read what you sent and I know what you mean about gov. I live inland north of Waco in a the City of Cleburne and I stopped surfing about the same time maybe a little sooner..Heh if you are ever in this part of the world stop by..Mosquitos here but not like the coast. Every once in a while I'll watch something like endless summer and think back to those days sitting out there waiting for a good wave due to a low or a storm coming in

05/27/09 01:55 PM #1145

Freddie Brenk

Everytime I go out to my garden house to get my lawnmower, I see my old 9'-6" Gordon/Smith surfboard and think about surfing again. Then after mowing the yard I remember why I quit!!! After spending 12 years in the Gulf Of Mexico and catching and seeing the cridders out there, I have even more reasons not to surf again! To me it seems as if we don't have the surf we did back in the 60's also!

Carrol, I may be off base but I was wondering about Pam Kirk...It seems to me that if it wasn't her then I am not sure but it seems that I recall someone told me she died from choking on some food. Does anyone recall of this and if I am off base I will delete this.

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Joe, I just spoke with Pam Kirk's parents the other day. I shared my phone number with them for her to call me. Then I saw her brother a few days later. She lives in Louisana and she works with her husband who is a chiropractor. Too tell you what a small world we live in, I have seen 2 classmates and one coach in the last two weeks. My mom is at The Plantaion (rehab) and I am seeing so many people. When sitting on the porch with mom, who comes walking up the side walk but Coach Landers. He looks the same. He knew right off who I was. He ask me to tell all his athletes hello. (Wouldn't it be great for him to show up at the reunion) Then the next day, while visiting mom, who is sitting on the porch with her father-in-law but Vicky Norris Haish (Martha's sister-in-law). She said the minute I took off my sunglasses she knew who I was. She looks the same but said she will not be able to make it to the reunion. Vicky said she reads the message forum...so Hi Vicky, you will be missed. Then, I see the Funderburg's. I was looking at profiles and ran across Denise Riggin. Come to find out, she lives in Bay City and has taught at the same high school with my husband for over 20 years. It is a small world.

Carrol, I was walking around Restwood Cemetery in LJ/Clute (my mother is buried there) and came upon a headstone for Margaret LaValley. I need to get back out there and find it again. I don't have the date or the circumstances, but I know it is there.

Marian that is so awesome!! I am so glad I was wrong about Pam!! Girl it is one small marble we live on. Was there a girl named Candy other than Ms Candy Sullivan? I am puzzled about this girl that choked on food.

Just NOTE but when its time to all get together at the reunion maybe if someone with authority could publish our chat...It has been to me such an awesome thrill to read this Message Forum...We are the Class of '69 and we grew up in one of the most unique places and times in modern history. May God bless us all!!!

"someone with authority" ARE YOU KIDDING? WE CAN'T GET ANYONE TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE REUNION! Alice isn't in charge, she's just bossy. (oh,i'm gonna pay for that . . . i'm taking one for the team here)
Carrol

Nancy Carrier...Brown spots are caused from exposure to the sun. You can make an appointment with the dermatologist to possibly laser or do a photo facial. I highly recommend staying out of the sun, but if you do wear a hat and sunscreen. The sun is good for you in small doses, and actually gives you Vitamin D which is necessary for good health... I have a machine called the Bella that I have used, and it has helped to remove age spots on the face, and hands! Let me know if I can help!!!

Yvonne...singing You'll Never Walk Alone!!! I love this song, and I nominate Alice Day, Judy Henson, Melinda McBride, you, and Dee Allen to sing it for us at the reunion...then we all join in singing!!!! It is an awesome song...never, ever give up.... we will make it through, and with our LORD as my best friend...I WILL MAKE IT!!!!!! YIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

You'll Never Walk Alone....
When you walk through a storm hold your head up high and don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm is a golden sky and the sweet silver song of a lark!
Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, Walk on with hope in your heart, and you'll never walk alone...You'll never walk alone!!!!
Thank you so much Yvonne...been singing all day!!!!

GOD Bless you all with hope, sweet dreams, and all the desires of your hearts.
Love to all,
JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0)

This just came from Tommy Dye's wife, Jimmie:

Brazosport High School
Freeport, Texas Class Of 1969

Thank all of you for the prayers for Tommy and his family in this very difficult time of losing his sister, Maggie. She passed away Monday afternoon in Colorado. A week ago she volunteered at school and the next day woke with a sore throat, no fever, and decided not to go to the md. thru the week she kept the sore throat, but felt she could get better on her own. Between Sat pm and Sun am she developed right lung pain and thought she had pleurisy as she had in the past. Sun afternoon she went to bed early, a little later, her husband went to check on her and found laboured breathing, called 911. The local md's had to sedate her and intubate to increase O2 levels, and medivac to Loveland. CO. When Jim and their 4 year old Daughter Lilly got there she was septic with strep in her lungs. When she showed slight progress, some return of kidney function, Jim took Lilly to her sitter in Estes Park and then returned. Maggie passed away Monday afternoon.
Her husband and family are planning Memorial services in Estes Park and in Lake Jackson. I will update this when plans are completed. SIncerely, Tommy's wife Jimmie

Joe, there were 2 Brenda Johnsons in our class. I really, really SEEM to recall that the one from Freeport died soon after we graduated and she choked on a piece of meat. I have been unable to verify that. Personally, I don't trust my memory 'cept. . . sure seems to me like that happened.

05/27/09 10:28 PM #1156

Joe Ballard

Carrol you may be right! There was a Brenda Johnson from Lake Jackson and I want to say she lived around the corner from us on Caladium and the corner with what now is Ash Lane. I think she is on this site or maybe she was on classmates. I checked and she is married to Charles Lindsey

Hey;
My Louie Louie went like this:

Louie Louie, me gotta go.
Louie Louie, me gotta go.

In sixty nine I'd finished school.
I really thought I'd found a jewel.
I fell in love, at least I thought.
It ended up, we fought and fought.
Louie Louie, me gotta go .

I had to hire a guy like Dee.
I needed him to set me free.
He set me free just for a while.
Then I fell for a sweet girls smile.
Louie Louie, me gotta go.

I opted for a new release.
I'm free again, and now at peace.
Im sure that it won't last too long
And then I'll sing aother song.
Louie Louie, me gotta go.

Time for my weekly reminder to give me notice of your door prize contribution. I am keeping a spreadsheet of who is donating what. If you want to donate, let me know. You will be responsible for getting the prize to the reunion. I do not want to rent a trailer to bring everthing from Fort Worth. Also, the donations are so good that I might just be tempted to keep them all. All you have to do is notify me of your gift. I will send you a series of reminders before the reunion.
