Mr. Todd lived just down the street from me. When I was 13 or 14, still at LJJH and didn't have a driver's licence, I was driving my dad's 55 dodge truck down Laurel where Todd lived. (Kim Kincannon and I would often take my dad's truck out for joy rides when the folks went bowling) Anyway, I lost control of the truck and went plowing into Mr. Todd's yard - not on purpose....that's the last thing I would want. I don't think he saw us before we backed out of the yard. He never mentioned it at school and I was waiting for the phone call from him to my parents....and the subsequent beating I would get. Never came!

Joe Ballard Paul Todd for all the bad rap that comes to mind....The man was fair with me. He was colorful but fair. Two times I got his paddle :(... But all in all at LJJH.. those were Happy Days!

Hi!!!!! How is everyone? I am back...missed you all...but had an amazing vacation!!! I especially missed my granddaughter, Miss Jolie!!!! She told me she grew up while I was gone!!! She is hilarious...I love children!!!! I want more grandchildren...Katy and Randy...maybe this year! I keep picturing this adorable blonde hair blue eyed little boy!!! They are going to name him Randall Lance ...Randall after my husband!!!

Well, the weather in New Mexico and Colorado is definitely cooler!! I am going to go back sometime soon and go white water rafting!!! We just never had time with all the other activities!!! I saw some huge elk...wow they are certainly beasts!!!

Guess what...lost 15 pounds on the Atkins! I am never hungry, and have twice the energy I did...now very hyper!!! LOL!!!! I have lost this much in 3 weeks!!! I feel good...I feel good...yeah...yeah...yeah...okay so that isn't the words!!! But...I do feel GOOD!!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Well, I did have a life changing vacation to LA!!! Wow, I went to the GOD Chicks convention!!! My handsome son Chuck was one of the speakers on the panel...what a charmer!!! LOL...the women love him!!! He is waiting on the one that GOD has for him!!! He does not just talk...he walks the walk!!! The speakers were amazing!!! There is this program started by the young woman Cathrine that worked on Wall Street making $200,000 per year wondering if this was all there was to life...collecting junk and money! Anyway, a friend asked her to go to the Cleveland Prison System in Texas. She went, and now has started a program for prisoners that will be paroled and are serious about changing their lives. Her story is amazing...look it up at PEP.com (Prisnon Enterpeurner Program. CEO'S from New York fly in to teach business courses to parolees'!!!! The program had 510 graduates on July 10th! She has 5,400 volunteers and a $2 1/2 million budget...non profit organzation that is truly helping people to change their lives! I am going in September to teach proper manners!! LOL....guess I will be helping get them ready to face the world! Let's face it how many people will help when you have been in prison? People run from people that have been in prison...and they are only given $100 when paroled. The program is totally sucessful, and in 5 years no one has returned to prison!!! There is a whole group from California going with me!!! Also...if any of you wonderful ladies are interested in GOD chicks they will have a conference next June!!! The church is the Oasis in Los Angeles, CA!!! AWESOME!!!!!!

Hey everyone that lives in the Brazosport area... went to see Hello Dolly last night at the Brazosport Theater. It was great! If you get the chance, go see it next weekend. After the show, look for the short dark haired lady.... that would be Gail Harris (for the LJ crowd). She was the property mistress for the show. She did an outstanding job.

Hi Joe...Thanks for the welcome back. It is always great to be back in your own bed. Donna, I must admit...I have allergies living here, too. I wanted to get one of those "Austin is Weird" t-shirts for the grandkids but I was busy the whole time I was there. Joy, the main question I receive in my coalition meetings is.....what do returnees from prison life do once released? I have a lady that calls me and "begs" for help to get her life back on track. At present, Matagorda County does not have any rehab/detox facilities. We do not have half-way houses. But, we are in the process of opening a facility for youth with substance abuse for males only. This isn't enough. I would like to share your posted info with my members, if this is acceptable. The need is here. I would love to attend one of those conferences. God Bless, Marian

We laugh (A LOT!), cry, sing and hear the Word. I always come away so inpired and filled up! It is very powerful to be in the Toyota Center with ALL THOSE WOMEN! (and a few men) I still remember the goose bumps when the entire building was filled with women singing 'Amazing Grace' acapella. I always learn something that impacts my life and attitude. The speakers are genuine and real and the music is AMAZING. Oh, I hope you get to come. Let me know and I'll give you my cell number so we can meet up.

Carrol...the website is GODchicks.com in LA,CA. The pastor of the Oasis church is Phillip, and his wife Holly is the speaker. They have an amazing ministry...and serving GOD mightly!!! Dennis Lamar is the Music Minister, and does an amazing job! He sang at the Republican National Convention, and for Governor Perry on the National Day of prayer! He had a full ride at Baylor University in music, and sang at opera at the Bass Hall in Fort Worth! He can sing anything. On my profile you can see him standing by Govenor Perry and me at the Governor's Ball. When my husband passed away GOD sent me him and this wonderful, loving group of young people to love me!!! Check it out..maybe we can get a group together for next year!!! Dennis and my son Chuck are in ministry there...and we will have front row seats!!!

I used to work for him in the 7th grade in his office on my off period and was in his office when the announcement came over the PA system about the death of our President JFK. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Just finished reading the last 3 pages of messages. I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Todd. He was a cool guy. I knew him before jr. high because his son, Bobby, and my brother were partners in crime most of the time. So between the two of them, there was always a crisis and parents getting involved. He always seemed more than fair when I had a few dealings with him. Yeah, I wasn't perfect.

One time in 7th grade a bunch of girls skipped lunch and decided for some crazy reason to act out sleeping beauty. I was sleeping beauty and laid on the grass holding a weed over me with my eyes closed. Much to our surprise, the class near us, saw us out the window, reported us, and "The Man" came to check us out. Of coarse, the friends tried to run when they saw him, but me with my eyes closed, laying on the grass, was much surprised with him looking down over me. We all went to the office and he teased us that he was going to paddle us for disturbing a class. He asked for a volunteer to start so I bravely said yes. He made me bend over and I braced then he let me off the hook. I had learned my lesson while holding my ankles waiting.
