Ellise Good (Griot)

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! To the committee, everyone who came, and all who helped in setting up and cleaning up! I had a blast from the past. My mother was able to gowith me Sunday morning and was very impressed. I will post the cucumber and pineapple salsa recipes on my profile when I get home...I don't think most of you want to make a gallon. I was able to see my great niece from Atlanta,3 of my 4 brothers, and we celebrated mother's 81st birthday yesterday while we were all in town! It was wonderful, and I don't go home until tomorrow. Happy Labor Day Holiday! EG

THANK YOU to everyone who worked so hard planning this wonderful weekend. We may have had our separate groups in high school, but this weekend we were all part of one Exporter family! I'm sorry I had to miss the Sunday service. We had a family gathering, but our daughters loved hearing all about the weekend! God bless all of you.

Donna Billie (Jones)

I think I must have said it dozens of times during this wonderful event, but it bears repeating...THANK YOU, PLANNING COMMITTEE!!! It was so much fun to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. And the Sunday morning service was the perfect ending to all the events. I agree with Susie (what good would it do to disagree with her on any subject???)--The spouses were a big part of the fun. Tana's husband's surprise for the twirlers was inspired! And thanks to own husband Todd for showing off his gator skills at the dance. Penny--that split you did was the highlight!! Glad we didn't have to call EMS for any of the many wild dancers! Let's make the most of this Web site for the next 5 years. Do we have a travel agent among us? A BHS cruise in honor of the year we turn 60 sounds like a really fine idea. Of course, I'm almost a year older than many in the class (October birthday), but I'm not opposed to lieing about my age!

My most sincere thanks to my fellow committee members!!!!! Thanks Carrol, Alice, and everyone else. It was wonderful to serve with each of you.

Marc, Dee, Gary, Alice: Awesome service Sunday morning! Cheryl and I are so glad we were there and a part of it. I’m glad Maria thought to bring the Kleenex since I failed to bring a handkerchief (or my reading glasses either).

One last item: Speaking on behalf of my fellow cook-off participants, a big Thank You must go to Dee. Even though you tried “tirelessly” to bribe Mrs. Huff with personal compliments, you were considerate of all of us; since you made sure your gumbo “presentation” did not take up the entire serving counter. You’re a prince, my friend.

See all of you at our next reunion, and as Red Skelton always closed, “and may God bless”.
Tony

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

My Dear Classmates, I miss you already! Our weekend had to be the best one I have had in awhile. Even though I loved the whole weekend, I must confess that Suncay was my favorite. To be able to worship together topped it off for me. Tana I loved sharing my bible with you. You are beautiful. I loved Marc leading us in song, Dee leading the bible sermon, Alice, for the oppoortunity to let me share tissue (that our precious Carrol provided, she never stopped serving us)for the loving words, John Devens for the prayer (he's still so handsome) and not to forget wonderful Gary. What a prayer that will stay with me forever. I love you. The great food that was provided. The attendance was awesome. I wanted to thank my wonderful grandkids and youngest daughter Larissa for attending the game with me. Melissa (Missy), my oldest daughter, for attending the Saturday night function. I love you all so much and what a blessing to be able to call you my GOD'S GIFTS! I have already received emails from locals asking when are we going to have our monthly "get togethers" and the answer is SOON. I definitely want to celebrate out 60th in some capacity. Dee Ann and I will be having our 59th (omg) on September 15th. Happy Birthday Dee Ann. I will also be having a big coalition meeting that day so pray that it is successful. I love my job. If there is misspelled words, forgive me for I did not want to go to the third floor to get my glasses (bones are hurting). I love you all and my prayers and blessings will be with you each day. May God grant you great health each day. My prayers are with you Colleen. Oh, we will be having our "girls" trip soon. Let's start sharing ideas.

Dee Ann Trout (Glenn)

Wonderful words Marian and happy birthday to you too. What "girls" trip? Sounds like fun. Colleen, Chuck, Michael and Kathy, Jardin's soon okay? Hey Joy, do you want to join us for dinner at Jardin's since Tana sent you on a wild goose chase on Sunday? (it really was an accident.) We would have ended up at El Chico's also if we hadn't followed her in our car. Anyone else in the Austin area and who didn't get enough visiting done can come eat some great Mexican food with all of us. Dee Ann

Hey everyone...I have been thinking....you know this is dangerous sometime, but I try so hard to do only "good" thinking!!!! Hahaha

Sign up now....I can get it started, and will be willing to head it up and get it done. First, we would set a date, reserve the cruise, have it all planned and paid for, reserve our outings when visiting islands!! What do you think? The Exporter 60th Birthday Cruise!!!!! Yippppppppppppppppeee!! Let me know what you think!!! I know people in the business. The Carnival Cruise line has new ships!!! We can go to the Bahamas and be Bahama Mamas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can snorkel and see those beautiful little fishes...and the big ones too!!! hahaha like the Brown sharks that surrounded me at Bora Bora!!! Oh....I didn't look like food to them....those hot pink goggles scared them off!!!! They probably ran from me because they thought I was going to attack them!!!!

Okay....what do you think? Let the fun begin...continue!!!!!!!! Yippppppppppppppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Have a great Labor day...and do not labor!!!!!

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Dee Ann, the girls trip was planned "out of the blue" because I mentioned I will be going to Austin for a busines in October and all of a sudden, everyone said they wanted to go. Then, we decided we will have a trip (location unknown). Gosh it was so many that wants to go like Lynn, Margaret, Colleen, Pam, and many more. I think going to San Antonio would be fun. Can you imagine us on those river cruises. I can hear Joy right now....Yipppeeee class of '69! We want everyone to go!!! No invistations, just come. Better go make my devil eggs. Anyone with a "good" recipe?

Collene Broussard** (DeAses)

Thanks to the committee for all their hard work putting this 40th reunion together. I hope to be able to help out on the next one. I had a great time and so did Chuck...I think the highlight for him was the big kiss Michael Poehl planted on his cheek...they are so nutty:)

Michael, Kathy, Dee Ann, Tom, Joy, Donna & Todd, Collene Shoemaker-Lewis and anyone else in Austin that wants to go to dinner....we are ready most nights. My chemo will hopefully be over in 2 weeks so I should be feeling terrific more often.

It was so nice to get all those hugs and each time I saw someone and got a hug there was another OMG(Oh My Gosh) and another hug coming. We are a great group the Class of 69!!! So many genuine, loving caring people. I am sorry we missed the Sunday service I am sure it was wonderful

Looking forward to making the next reunion or the Birthday cruise

Thank you for all the kind words and for all your love and prayers. I do believe they are working. Collene Broussard-DeAses

Patty Pasztor (Williams)

Thanks SO MUCH!! to everyone who helped with the Reunion. It was AWESOME!! I haven't had that much fun in a long time! I can't even remember the last time I was at a dance. My knees hurt Sunday. Ha! We missed the service. Our daughter was in town & she wanted to have Grandma & Grandpa over for dinner. I know the service was a great ending to the best reunion we've had. I can't quit telling everyone I see how much fun it was & how great everyone looked. You girls especially all get prettier & prettier. Maybe I'm biased because you're all my age. Tee hee! Thanks again. I'm So Proud to be part of the GREAT CLASS OF 1969!!!!!!

What an amazing experience! A cherished memory I would not have thought possible just one month ago.
Thank you so much, all of you on the committee, for such hard work and dedication. Connecting with friends from so many years ago was almost overwhelming. Meeting classmates I had never actually known until now, and then getting aquainted for the first time was incredible! Some of you I have known for over fifty years, since early elementary classes. Even if we weren't in touch over all these years, there was an immediate connection that only that hometown school familiarity could provide. It touched me deeply to see each of you once again. I was very moved at the final service yesterday morning. Thank you, Marc, so much for leading us all. Thank you, Dee for sharing your heart so that the Lord could use you to speak all our hearts. Gary Vance, it was a blessing to be within earshot of that prayer my dear brother. May He bless your ministry greatly. Sweet Alice, thank you for your tireless prayers for our class over the years. I think we all saw much fruit of all your labor over this weekend! I look forward with great anticipation to see all of our class come together once again in a few years. I will keep you in my prayers each day. I thank you again for the blessing and grace each of you brought me over these three days. In HIs Grace, Skip
*********************************************
I did not see you Sunday and I regret that I didn't get to speak with you, Skipper. The other days when I did see you in the crowd within hugging distance either you got hugged or I did. (I notice you are manly and Skip now but . . .) You were one of the men that I still recognize. I agree, Gary has the gift of prayer. Obviously 3 days were just NOT enough.
Carrol

Susie (Gerry Sue) Reichenbach (Tyler)

Dear Classmates: I wanted to say "Thank you for coming to the reunion" It was so much fun to plan and then to see everyone so excited and happy to see everybody-- it was a lot of work but the best payoff were the hugs from some many wonderful people!!! To see what God has done with our class is amazing. The service on Sunday was so moving- to everyone who participated in it all-THANK YOU-It has been so meaningful to me to work with the committee on the planning of it as it brought me together with some classmates that I knew in school and some I didn't, but had the great pleasure of getting to know them through it all.
Also if anyone is missing a black dangle earring I found it so send me an email and I will get it to you-
I wanted to say a special Thank You to Maria, Steve Landers, Kathy Harkreader Jones, Glenn Patton and Gary Vance for helping clean up Saturday night when the janitor was late- it's fantastic when we needed help you stayed- I thank you -
I'm also up for a cruise for the 60th birthday party as most of us will be turning 60 within the next couple of years- if Joy can get it planned kudo's to her!!!!! I along with others will still keep our classmates in prayer for the different health problems. May God Bless you all-
I would also like to extend a Thank you to the spouse's who came with our classmates- your part of our family now as the "CLASS OF BHS 1969 IS THE BEST"

Janice Mangum (Colwell)

Gosh, y'all....everything's already been said! It was wonderful to see everyone and I can't remember the last time I laughed so much. My husband was so impressed with the turnout and almost felt like he was part of the class. Such a great group! I join everyone in thanking those whose lives were consumed for the last year or so in making the reunion the success that it was. Thanks also, to those who came. It was wonderful. The Sunday service was God-honoring and a beautiful close to the weekend, and my heart was especially touch by Alice's closing remarks. God truly has been "for" us!
Looking forward to the next time we get together. God bless! Janice

Marian Sahr (Bullard)

Joy,, I totally broke out in laughter when you said all us "girls" can come to your ranch. I can just see us now. I live on a farm and I hear alot of weird noises and I go crazy. The coyotes are always making noises at the moon. I think it would be fun just to try it out and see if we can do it. Since I grew up with Betty nearly all my life, I know she has to come and protect us. Please, please Betty. I, too, love San Antonio. Give me some time to get this coalition meeting over and I will concentrate on our get away. Margaret and Lynn, what do you think? Janice, you have to come. I want a "bunch" of us to go!!!

Thank you God for the wonderful weather you gave us for the reunion. God is so GOOD!!!!!

It was a wonderful weekend. Thank you to everyone who planned it and to everyone who participated. I don't know how it could have been any better. The church service on Sunday was a perfect ending for a perfect weekend. It will be such a blessing to have these memories to cherish forever. I'm very grateful to have been part of this class.

Is there a 12 step program for people who need to talk about the reunion constantly?? Just wondering.... If you find one, please send me the info.

Margaret Dubois (Ammons)

It's tough to let go-you just don't want to let it end. Let's just call it a beginning to a new phase-on to our 60th birthday party!

Thanks to everyone that was involved with putting on the reunion. I enjoyed getting to see everyone. I didn't want it to end, and I know this is just the beginning, of alot of people staying in touch with each other. I have enjoyed this web-site. This week-end was a blessing. Anyone READY TO DANCE AGAIN?????I couldn't hardly move the next day, I haven't danced like that in years, it was fun singing with the spoon/microphone and dancing, I saw such a freedom and joy in each and everyone. I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me this joy and time, that was unspeakable. I pray blessings over each and every one of you. Thank you all and thank you FATHER.
Love all, melinda

I just wanted to say Ditto on all the comments that I have read about the reunion, it was an awesome job by all. I would also like to commend whoever put together this web page. It is so easy to navigate and so informative. My sister Georgia, (whos 35th reunion was the same night)is the one who found the web site and sent my e-mail address to the commitee, otherwise I would not have been there. KEEP THE WEB PAGE GOING!!!!!!
Tommy & Tommy, the golf tournament was great fun, but how did Poehl & Greenberg get on the same team? If any of y'all get up around Seguin give us a call and we can find some kind of trouble to get into I'm sure.

Love to all
Mike

P.S. Just remember. When life deals you lemons, make lemonade. Then find someone whos life has dealt vodka, and have a party.
