Chillicothe High School
Class Of 1973

|
Welcome to your Chillicothe High School Class of 1973 website
ABOUT OUR SITE
Our personal class website was launched in October 2012. Although Class Creator is the system through which the site operates, this website is maintained by members of your very own class – Kelley Mick Deavers, Janet Whitehouse Wallace and Susan Swisher Radcliffe - we, and you, are in control of our site, not Facebook, not MySpace, or some other, unknown and faceless administrator.

HOW TO JOIN
You will need to make your individual profile in order to access the password-protected pages on this site. To make your own page, click on "Our Classmates" at the upper left of the screen.
Once there, find your name and click on it. Follow the prompts to create your profile. If your name is not listed, use the "Contact Us" button to let us know and you will be added.
You must enter a valid email address. Your email address will be your user name. Enter a password, then click "remember me" so that you don't have to enter the information each time you visit the site.
Note: Couples who share an email can use the same email address, however they will just need different passwords. One problem they might encounter is that one member may receive a notice that they have received a message -- they will click on the e-mail to read the message and it will say that they are logged in as their spouse. To prevent this, each person must log out of the website when they are done with it.
Once you create a profile, you will also be able to see the profiles of your fellow classmates, take part in interactive forums, email other classmates through the website, respond to surveys, etc.
You have the option of password-protecting your personal profile. This blocks the general public and search engines from accessing your profile details. We recommend that you use this option. On the "Edit Profile" page, it is called "Profile Visibility" and is in the checkboxes at the bottom of the page.
YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US!
All contact information that you enter into this website is kept confidential. It will not be shared or distributed. Your address and phone number cannot be seen by other classmates unless you grant permission on your profile. When someone clicks on your name all they will see of your contact information is your city and state and whatever personal information you choose to put into your profile.
If they want to send a message to you, they do NOT see your email address. Class Creator -- the system through which our site is set up, keeps things private, unless YOU wish to share your information.
E- MAIL ~ E-MAIL ~ E-MAIL
In order to ensure you receive important messages from our class web site, as well as messages sent directly to you from other Classmates, it's important you whitelist the email address noreply@classcreator.net (that's a .net, not a .com).
Whitelisting simply means you are telling your email program to accept all emails coming from our class web site and our Classmates. The technique for whitelisting varies by email program, but generally you will see the term "Whitelist", "Safe List", or "Safe Sender's List". This is where you want to be sure you have added the email address noreply@classcreator.net.
Class Creator, the system that helps us operate our class web site, uses the address noreply@classcreator.net when sending out email messages. Be assured that all emails sent through our site are valid — you will not receive spam email. Whitelisting noreply@classcreator.net is the single most important thing you can do to ensure you don't miss anything happening on our site or miss receiving emails from your fellow Classmates.

We realized after looking through our yearbooks that not all of our graduates are in our Senior Yearbook, (and in some cases, like Ralph G., not in any - lol), so if you are missing from our list, please send me an e-mail or use the "Contact Us" tab above, and we will see that you are added.
Please review the "Lost or Missing Classmates" tab above, and if you have, or know, of any information or can provide us with a contact e-mail or telephone number for any classmate, please email me, so that we can verify and update that information.

GOT QUESTIONS????
Please let us know if you have questions or need help with anything on the website. Just use the "Contact Us" button and send us a note. If we don't know the answer, Class Creator does. We would also like to hear any suggestions concerning what you would like to see on the site.
REMEMBER, bookmark this page now so you can return to it again and again. Take a look around, sign up for the message board, and start catching up with old friends.
Thank you!!
How to upload pictures to your profile page:
Before uploading your photo be sure it is not a really large picture. Some digital pictures can be huge, which will cause your page to blow out to the side. A photo about 1000 pixels wide is a good size and jpg format is best.
1. Be sure you are logged in on the home page. In the links on the left side under MEMBER FUNCTIONS, click on the link: Edit/Upload Photos.
2. The Photo page will appear and you will see a gray box titled: Upload New Photo. Click on this box and you will be at the Add Photo page.
3. The Add Photo page gives basic instructions for uploading your photos. there are 3 places on this page to make entries. Sort: The sort number controls the order in which photos display on your page. By default your pictures will appear in the order you entered them. Caption: Caption is the description you write for your picture. Browse: This is how you find the picture on your computer and get it to appear on your page.
4. Click the Browse button. A list of folders on your computer will show up. Locate the folder that holds your picture. For most, this will be the My Pictures folder located in your document folder. When you have clicked through to your picture file and located the picture you want to use, click on the picture to select it, then click Open at the bottom of the box.
5. Now you will be taken back to the Add Photo page and in the Upload Photo box you will see the path to your picture.
6. Enter the Caption for your picture in the box.
7. Click the Save Changes button.
If you are like me, and need written instructions, you can print this page. Select the text that you want to print, then anywhere in the text, right click. A box appears, click on Print Preview, a page opens that looks like this one. At the top you will see "as laid out on screen" click there and "as selected on screen" appears, choose that setting. (this option gets rid of everything except the text). Also at the top -- click on "shrink to fit", then select 125% (this enlarges the text -- otherwise it will be really small) then click print in the upper left hand corner. Or you can just select, copy and paste into a word document on your computer, then print.
How to add youtube video to your profile page.
On You Tube, make sure your video is showing in the play box.
To the right of the video you'll see a gray box, and near the bottom of this box is the grayed word "Embed." And just below that a long horizontal white box that contains the code for the video. When this code is placed in the Video box on your Edit Profile page, the video player with your video will appear and classmates can view it from your page. Here are the steps to get the code on your page:
- With your mouse, left click once on the white window that contains the code. It should turn blue. (Alternatively, you can move your mouse across the box until all the code turns blue.)
- On your keyboard hold down the Control key (Ctrl) and click the letter C key. This copies the code.
- On your Edit Profile page, locate the box "Videos."
- Place your cursor inside the box and left click with your mouse.
- Now press the Control key and the letter V key on your keyboard. The Embed code will now appear in your box. The code should look like this:
- <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/QTXyXuqfBLA&hl=en&fs=1&color 1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00"></param><param name= "allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/QTXyXuqfBLA&hl=en&fs=1& color1=0x234900&color2=0x4e9e00" type="application/x- shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height= "344"></embed></object>
- (NOTE the width of the video should not be more than 425 px wide or it will blow out the side of your page -- just highlight the width in the code and change it to 425)
- In your Video Description box just below, enter a name for your video or something about your video, like: "What's a Mahna Mahna? Who cares?" This will appear just below your video.
- Now click the Save button and go view your page.

All messages in the conversation window are preceded by your "Master Photo". If you have no Master Photo you will see a default image. Your Master Photo cannot be set from within the Live Chat interface. To set your Master Photo click on the Edit/Upload Photos link on the web site and follow the directions on screen. Should you forget what the icons mean, hover your mouse pointer over them and the member's status will expand like this:
NOTE: All member names are clickable to their Profile pages. If you want to know more about the person you're chatting with, click on their name and their Profile will launch in a separate window. |

The Control Bar is used for sharing media and adjusting font, font size, and font color.
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT If you want chat participants to see and hear you on webcam, you'll need a webcam and a microphone. In order to eliminate sound echo you must ensure sound emitted from your computer speakers cannot travel back through your microphone, causing a sound loop (the source of echo). Echo can be avoiding by utilizing a headset or headphones, or by using a microphone or speakerphone with echo canceling technology. If you need a webcam or microphone compatible with this Live Chat system here's some we recommend:
WEBCAM TROUBLESHOOTING Q&A:
Question: I use my webcam with other applications. Is that a problem? Answer: Possibly. Close all software before starting a new webcam session Sometimes after you finish using the webcam in a software application, the program may not properly release the webcam for other activities in other applications, or even the same application. Sometimes you cannot use the webcam because it is being accessed by another program by default. So, if you are having a problem with your webcam, close the program you are using it in, reboot your computer, and then try using the Live Chat application again. Question: Should I do anything with webcam drivers? Answer: If everything else has failed, try downloading the latest drivers and updates for your webcam. Some webcams may not be recognized by the Live Chat application unless you have the most recent drivers and updates for your webcam. If you installed the webcam separately, go to the webcam manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers, updates, plug-ins, or conversion utilities for any webcam video software. TIP: Be sure to verify the webcam drivers and software are compatible with the OS version of Windows or Mac you are using! Question: Nothing has worked. I think I need to buy a new webcam. Any other suggestions? Answer: Sometimes new hardware is the only solution. While waiting for your new webcam to arrive, have you considered using a laptop computer with this Live Chat? Most laptops sold today come with a built-in webcam. |
