Lynne Adam Dhonau (Peters) VIEW PROFILE

Lynne Dhonau Peters passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Christ Hospital, surrounded by her family. Lynne was born in 1941 to Bob and Billie Dhonau in Cincinnati, Ohio. A lifelong Cincinnati resident, Lynne attended Woodward High School, Class of 1959. She graduated from the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in 1962.

Lynne was a caring and dedicated OR nurse at Christ Hospital for over a quarter century. After her retirement from the hospital, she continued her nursing career at Women's Center Surgicare in Clifton for many more years.

Dedication to family was one of Lynne's hallmarks. She was committed to her own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as the extended family she gained when she married Dick Meyer in 1984. Lynne loved them all unconditionally.

Many will remember Lynne as a talented baker and crafter. Her talents in cookie baking, knitting, sewing, scrapbooking, and creating intricate, beautiful cards were shared with so many friends and family.

In addition to sharing her crafting talents, Lynne also dedicated time to organizations that support women's rights, reproductive freedom, and to select democratic candidates in local politics. She was an officer in the Ohio chapter of NOW, was involved in NARAL (now called Reproductive Freedom for All), made posters for Take Back The Night marches, and answered the phone at the Eastside Democratic club.

Travel was one of Lynne's loves. She eagerly accepted invitations from family or friends to explore destinations near and far. Lynne's travels included France, Germany cruise on the Rhine, Peru, Israel, 2 trips to Russia, Argentina, Albuquerque Balloon Festival, and numerous trips to New York with Provident Travel highlighting Broadway musicals. Lynne was a huge fan of happy-ending Hallmark movies and cozy mysteries.

Jean Sauer (DeFrances )

Though I hadn't seen Lynne since my family moved to Florida in 1957, she had been a good friend.  I'm sorry I hadn't kept in touch as reading the entry about her death, I see that we had a lot of common interests.  I have good memories of our time together in Tally Ho.  Jean Sauer DeFrances

Good to see that Jean Sauer remembers Lynne.  Lynne and I agreed that we think it was Jean that introduced us - leading to Lynne being my high school sweetheart through most of our high school years and a little beyond.  Lynne was a special person and she will be missed.

Our living contingent from Woodward's Class of1959 continues to shrink.  My very best wishes to Lynne's family and friends!
