Gene Magnarini Obituary

Gene Magnarini, 82, of Lake Wylie, SC, passed away on July 22, 2023. Born on July 8, 1941, in Cincinnati, OH, Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Gene never met a stranger and had a warm and welcoming personality. He was quick with a joke, loved to entertain and always had a story. He loved his family and found great joy in spending time with his four grandchildren. Gene also enjoyed spending time with friends. He was actively involved in various social groups, such as the River Hills Lake Wylie Lions Club and the Schmoozers Group. Gene had a zest for life and loved grilling, fishing, golfing, and playing cards with his friends.

In his early years, Gene attended Woodward High School in Cincinnati, OH. He served his country as a member of the Ohio National Guard from 1961 to 1966. Gene embarked on a successful career at Cincinnati Milacron, where he dedicated 40 years of his life.

Gene is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathy, as well as his children Vincent (Tara) Magnarini and Anthony (Alyssa) Magnarini; his grandchildren Mia, Zane, William, and Emma Magnarini; and his sister JoEllen (Rick) Bongiorno. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ellen Magnarini.

A private service will be held by the family, with a celebration of life gathering planned for a future date.

Gene Magnarini will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kind-hearted nature and vibrant spirit will forever live on in our memories.

It is so hard to accept and digest the fact that we are disappearing one by one by one. Good bye Gene. If there is another place, maybe we will all meet there. But, too be honest , I doubt it. I don't know if there is an afterlife, but I do believe that if we take care of this one, the other one will take care of itself.

Gene and I grew up three houses apart in Golf Manor. He was a great friend for many years and we enjoyed many good times together. My heart goes out to Kathy and family. I will miss him.

Found a picture from a little reunion that Gene organized in High Hampton, NC and thought it was a way of expressing a tribute to our loss of a 1959 Classmate...........Gene Magnarini. It was a great trip and rendezvous that he corodinated.
