ANNOUNCEMENTS

"The Class of '75: A Blast from the Past and a 50-Year Reunion to Remember!"

The internet? Nope, didn’t exist yet. In fact, we had rotary phones with long cords that we used to dial our friends—and we didn't even know what a CD was. But what we did have was something even cooler—mood rings, Rubik's cubes, hip-hugger jeans, bell-bottoms, and platform shoes! We wore our style loud and proud, and if you didn't have at least one of those items, were you even really living in the '70s?

Groovin' to the Best Tunes

When it came to music, we had the best soundtracks to our lives. Forget streaming services—our playlist came from 8-tracks of hits like "Best of My Love," "Black Water," and "Some Kind of Wonderful." We spun vinyl on record players and bought albums at local spots like Camlot Records. On Saturdays, we’d hang out at Salem Mall, stopping by Spencer Gifts or grabbing a bite at the food court. And of course, we danced to Disco hits like Shining Star and The Hustle at the SHE, all while sipping a 3.2 beer.

Saturday Night at the Movies

There was nothing like a trip to the theater. Whether it was the suspense of Jaws, the rock opera Tommy, or the intense drama of Dog Day Afternoon, we saw some unforgettable films. We laughed at Funny Lady and followed the stories that defined our generation.

TV Time: The Shows We Loved

At home, we gathered around the TV to watch All in the Family, The Six Million Dollar Man, and Maude. Those characters and stories shaped our lives and connected us in ways we didn’t fully realize at the time.

We Were the Original "Get Outside and Play" Generation

We grew up drinking from the garden hose, playing outside until the streetlights came on, and getting into mischief without a care in the world. Heck, we did most of our “dumb” stuff before the internet;and looking back, we’re pretty lucky we did. The real world and face-to-face interaction were all we knew, and it shaped the friendships that lasted a lifetime.

A World in Transition

As we navigated our teenage years, the world was changing rapidly. We witnessed monumental events—the assassination of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Bobby Kennedy; the moon landing with Neil Armstrong’s giant leap for mankind; the rise and fall of the Vietnam War; and the tragic Kent State shooting in Ohio. These moments shaped who we were and how we viewed the world.

More Than Memories – Lifelong Friendships

But perhaps the most important part of it all wasn’t the clothes, the music, or the world events. It was the friendships we made. Through the laughter, tears, and unforgettable moments, we formed bonds that still last today. Those memories are etched in our hearts, and now, 50 years later, it's time to celebrate them together.

The 50th Class Reunion: You Won’t Want to Miss It!

Even if you’ve never been to a reunion before, this is the one you don’t want to miss. The Class of 1975 is gathering to celebrate a lifetime of memories, and we want YOU to be there. So mark your calendars, dust off those bell bottoms, and get ready for a celebration that will take you back in time.  Robin Earley Rampani

Here’s to the Class of 1975—wherever life has taken you since high school, we can always come together, laugh about the good ol' days, and make even more memories at our 50th reunion. It’s going to be a great weekend  to remember!
