At GGHS Bob sang in the Concert Choir, acted with the Thespian Troop, was Student Store manager, member of Key Club and president of Golden Fleece honorary club. Bob attended Redlands University, eventually heading to Utah to work at Park City ski resort. He met his wife Myra in Utah, where they raised a daughter, Karllen. Bob faced some health challenges in his adult life, but always kept a spirit of wonder and inquisitiveness about the world. He enjoyed reading, and communicating with high school friends, sometimes engaging us in conversation late into the night. He will be missed.

Our family moved from La Mirada to Garden Grove where I started 4th grade at Evans Elementry.  Bob was a neighborhood friend from then on through our Lampson & GGHS years.  After Graduation our family moved to San Diego.  Bob is one of the classmates that I lost touch with but still have memories of.  One day he came over to my house after school with new a set boxing gloves he got for his birthday.  We spent hours in my front yard punching each other between lots of snack & drink breaks. We laughed about that for years after.

Thanks for this posting,

Clark Mitchell
