I witnessed the incident.
Saturday evening, 4.13.1968
I was working at Pronto, mop in hand, speaking with Ron Allen at the doorway.
We heard the collision, saw the car flip over-end and immediately burst into flames. There may have already been a small flame while it was moving.
Ron dashed immediately out to the corner -- not to be a 'Looky-Loo' -- but to try to help and render aid.
There was nothing he could do; the immense heat was overpowering. Many classmates do not know that about Ron.
We found out who was in the car Monday, when it was announced in class.
Every time -- I mean every time in the last 41 years that I pass through that intersection, I envision that fateful night,
and remember Grace and Deidre...

I remember Grace being a very sweet and cheerful young woman. I often drove her home from school, and we talked quite a bit.I still remember the shock of hearing of her death.
RIP, Grace
