Leah and I have been friends since kindergarten. We have kept in touch all these years and visited several times a year despite the miles that separated us most of that time. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer about three years ago. She lived life to the fullest and stayed in the present moment and enjoyed those she loved and her life with little mention of her diagnosis. Just one year ago she attended our High School reunion. Her oldest daughter spent a lot of time by her bedside and said, "many times sitting by her side I had the inexplicable feeling that I was watching a birth rather than a death." Leah was born into Eternal Life on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Until we meet again dear sweet friend.....

It is very heartbreaking to have just learned of Leah's passing. Sorrow seems too shallow in expressing my feelings about the news. She was my dear friend thorughout high school, sharing many memories in choirs and musicals. What a beautiful person in all ways. From my conversation with her a year ago at the reunion picnic, I know she entered Paradise with Christ ("And Jesus said to him, Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." Luke 23:43) and I look forward to seeing her "blue eyes" again. Our few years of memories at GGHS will live on in my life and I know Leah is smiling big right now; "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4

So sorry to hear of the passing of Leah Hopper Cox. I knew her since elementary school, but didn't always have the pleasure of being in the same circles. I was blessed to reconnect with her at the reunion in 2010. What a gracious and refined lady! I'm so glad to have rekindled our friendship along with some other dear gals from GGHS. Her kindness and care for others will remain an inspiration and sweet memory.
